Hiya :)

Okay, first of all period blood can differ from person to person, no matter what age you are!.
Brown blood is often more common at the end of your period because it is old blood from further inside that takes a while longer to come out!.

If your periods are brownish red at the beginning of your cycle, it is nothing to worry about!. The thicker the blood, the darker it often looks!. Throughout your period, it can change and you may get very light periods with barely any blood each day or the next time you may get much heavier period with darker blood sometimes even the blood coming out in clots!. All of this is normal and nothing for you to worry about!. [sorry lol not nice to describe I know!]

What I'm trying to say is as long as your getting your period and not having any out of the ordinary complains then you are most certainly fine!. If it makes you feel better than by all means talk to your doctor!. You could ask your dad but most men won't know enough about periods!.

The birth control pill is an option you can consider as your getting older but it's not worth going on now as there are side affects to it!. Your GP will be unlikely to put you on it as your only 13 and it is normally prescribed to people around 16 and over!. As long as your periods are not causing you severe pain then you don't really need to think about being on birth control like someone mentioned!.

You say you don't have any older women in your life to talk to, well I'm not older I'm 16 but if you have any worries your welcome to contact me through yahoo if you want!. I've had my period since I was about 11 so I'm really used to it all! [unfortunately!] =p

Take care and try not to worry, well done for coming on here to get answers x

EDIT - Here's a really good site where you can ask any kind of question to trained professionals by sending them a message and they reply within a few days!. I have used it many times before and they are very helpful!.

I would personally say it is normal, and is related to your body still growing and changing!.

However, if you are feeling uncomfortable, then you should talk to your dad!. I didn't have a mom growing up so everything went to my dad!. If you are uncomfortable talking to him about it, then I would suggest you talk to your pediatrician or asking your dad to set you an appointment with a Gyno!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's normal!. Your period could still be irregular since you've only had your period for 2 years!. It can take years and years for your period to become regular!. There's nothing wrong with you, but you should still consider talking to your dad about things sometimes!. I know it's embarassing, but in the end you'll feel alot better about it!. Good luck & hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com

All of this is totally normal!. Periods are very unpredictable!. No need to talk to dad about that!. However, I would suggest talking to him about getting birth control to help regulate your periods!. It will also help with acne!. Do some research and print some stuff out!. Give it to him and tell him first off that you are in no way sexually active!. Explain to him why you think it'll help, i!.e!. shorter lighter predictable periods, less severe pms, less acne, etc!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

hun the brownish beginings are normal its just first blood thats all and your period length and intensity depends on your stess levels and such, dont worry about it youre perfectly okay i once went an entire year without a period just becuase i had a lot of stress in my life at the moment ^_^Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Candy, I know I'm a guy, but what I suggest is that you visit a doctor if you have any worries whatsoever!.
They are the people who would be best able to advise you about this, more than anybody on here!.
I hope that this is not a major problem,
Good luck,

hey Candy Cane
don't worry, this is absolutely how it is and should be
you're perfectly fine
if you start feeling sick or tired, or if there is too much blood, ask your Dad to take you to a docWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi, It sounds completely normal!.
But if you have questions maybe email the girls at www!.libragirl!.com i have before, and they personally email back really fast!. They know thier stuff!. =)Www@Answer-Health@Com

You are normal!. You are still young and your body is still has not found its rythm yet!. It is normal to get your period for a few days, and get it again in two weeks becuase you are still young!. It is okay if you start out brownish and end that way, too!. It is just dried blood, leftover from your previous period!. If you end that way, that just means that your body has stopped shedding the uterine lining, and some leftover blood is flowing out!.

If you have no other female to talk about this, maybe you can ask one of your close friends if it is okay if you can to talk to their Mother about concerns or questions that you may have about your body!. I know that talking to Fathers about this can be a little embarrassing!!! Plus, they don't understand because they have never been through it!. But, your Father does love you I'm sure so if there is ever anything wrong, you should tell him!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
