Question: I have a girl question!?
Today is day 1 of my period!. I have had my period since i was 11!. I am now 16!. Before my sister left i asked her for one of her birth control pills and i took one!. I am flying tommorow from Kansas City all the way to Washington state with a puppy!. I really don't want my period!. Since i took the birth control pill will it stop my period for a few days!? I don't think a single birth control pill can really make a difference!. Remember, a birth control pill doesn't stop menstruation!. It just makes it regular!. That's why some girls with irregular menstruation take birth control pills!. They don't just use it for family control!. As for the tampons!.!. NEVER EVER USE TAMPONS!. It could lead to Toxic Shock Syndrome because you're putting a foreign body in your *you know what* and it could harbor infections!. There is basically nothing you can do to stop it!. It's our body's way of maintaining homeostasis!. Just use regular napkins ok!?

One pill will not stop nor lighten your period!. Pack pads or tampons in your purse for the flight, change as needed!. Airplane washrooms have disposal bins for feminine hygiene products!.
If you really don't want to change pads or tampons in the air, you can wear a overnight thin maxi pad and insert two tampons (side by side)!. Put on the maxi pad and insert the tampons at the last possible moment before boarding the plane and you should not have leakage problems for at least 6 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can use birth control pills to change the date of your period (I have done it successfully several times)!. However, I don't think that a single pill is going to do it for you!. You would probably need several of them in a row, and even then, your body might not react the way you like if you've never been on them before!. You're putting hormones into your body, and things might just get confused!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
hey im 19 and ive been on the pill for the past 4 years, it def wont hold off on your period, but i could make it lighter, i serioulsly dont think that it would effect you very much since you only took one, but it could!. It would really just depend on how long you took the pill (before you started your period) to determine if it will slow it down!. Hope this helps!Www@Answer-Health@Com
One pill wont do it for you!. If you took like the whole week maybe but i can't say for sure if you've never been on it it might take longer to work with your body!.
Make sure your sis knows that since she is missing a pill to use extra protection if she is sexually active because that one pill you took will effect her!.

Sorry, hun, but taking one birth control pill will not stop your period or make it any lighter!. In order for birth control pills to affect your period you have to take them for weeks or even longer!. I would just suggest taking along a lot of pads and tampons for the flight!. okay well since you already got your period you shouldnt take birth control to quickely get rid of it, it wont work that way, birth control pills only prevent a period from comming, not magically stop it!.
