I have a copper IUD that is non-hormonal!. However, the Mirena IUD is hormonal; it contains progesterone (this hormone level rises during the 2nd part of a woman's cycle and some doctors think it affects the mood and libido)!.
I would suggest contacting your gyno and asking him/her!. There are side effects to virually every BCP (and the Mirena IUD)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
