Everyone says getting a lot of sleep helps you grow....?!

Question: Everyone says getting a lot of sleep helps you grow!.!.!.!.!?
but is it more the amount of sleep OR the time you go to sleep!?

So about 8-10 hours is ideal for teenagers and I've heard countless times sleeping helps you grow!.

However, does it make a difference if I go to bed at 2am and sleep until 11am!? Or if I go to bed at 9pm and wake up at 6am!?

Is it more the length of the sleep or the time which you start to sleep!? I've always been confused about this!. Maybe it's some of both!?

If anyone knows, please fill me in :)

I'm 15 & 9 months & 5,7"-5,7!.5"!.

I really want to be at least 5,8", but idealy 5,9"!.!.
My mom is 5,6!.5"ish - 5,7" & my dad is 6'!.

Any other suggestions on how I can increase my height is appreciated also!. Thanks !Www@Answer-Health@Com

Unfortunately no correlation between your height and the amount of time you sleep!. It is all genetic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hi its more about the amount of sunshine, (vitamine D) you absorb vitamin D, which helps you absorb Calcium, which you need for your bones to be healthy and strong!. So for this to happen you need more sunlight, so going to bed earlier enables you to do this!. I dont know if sleep helps you to grow, its probably more for brain function, you do need a minium of 8 hrs!. I'm about your height and I stopped growing about your age, this usually happens when you are fully developed!. I hope I have enlightened you a bit!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you will need to keep a reasonably consistent schedule, you don't want to get over-tired and then expect to get the same benefit out of your rest cycle!. make sure to eat healthy!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm sorry to disappoint you but I don't think increasing your sleep time is going to make you any taller!. Genetics play a big factor in your height!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You can't get taller
its all genetics and hormones
