Answers:
Prednisone doesn't cause yeast infections!. Prednisone is a steriod to reduce inflammation!. Antibiotics however can cause yeast infections!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can't believe some of the people here saying you CAN"T get a yeast infection from steriods!.!. predisone

I can assure you that YES YOU CAN!

But the good news is that is isn't likely especialy since you aren't likely on it for a long time!.

I have a chronic autoimmune illness and used to go to a camp for other kids like me!. A lot of us have been on high doses of prednisone like 60mg a day (i was on that!.!. it sucked!.!.!.) and got thrush!.!.!. (yeast infection in the mouth) as well as the other kind too!. It was very common in kids with Lupus in particular because of the weakend immune system and than taking steriods on top of it!.

you aren't likely to get a yeast infection from prednisione because likely you are young and healthy unlike myself and these kids I used to go to camp with but the truth is that it CAN happen!.!. just not likely!. Not as likely as it cna happen with antibiotics!.

Yogurt is a good way to prevent yeast infections as someone else suggested!. Live active accidophillus all the way!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Whenever you are on antibiotics you should eat yogurt, yes, but the main side effect of prednisone is weight gain from retention of fluid, this is only with long term therapy, you shouldn't worry!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, you could get a yeast infection!. Ask your doctor for a prescription for diflucan before you start the antibiotics!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

if in doubt , just eat alot of yogurt or just one daily, and stay close to your cranberry juice and youll be just fineWww@Answer-Health@Com
