What kind (names) of "prescribed" medications are for severe menstrual!
Question: What kind (names) of "prescribed" medications are for severe menstrual cramps!?
I am 37yrs old!. I have never had cramps this bad since I high school!. The cramps put me in bed, I can't work, I'm in just too much pain!. I also get these horrible headaches along with the cramps!. Back when I was in high school, I was prescribed Naprosyn (naproxen) and had bad side effects (broke in hives every where)!. I go see my doctor on the 24th!. (that is as soon as he could see me!.!.!.tear) I was wondering what other prescribed medications are there for severe menstrual cramps!. I have tried the OTC meds and they just aren't strong enough!. I don't want anything that is habit forming either!. Does anyone have any advise!? I have tried heating pads, warm showers, OTC (over the counter) meds and nothing seems to help!. What have you taken before, did it help!? Please I just need some help on this!!! I would like to have an idea of what types of meds are out there before going to see my doctor!.

Hey hun!.!.!.jill of all trades here! Um, I was prescribed 800mg ibuprophen and caripasol or Soma for the muscle pain!. Wish I could help more---maybe your meds are causing the pain to be worse!? any possibilty you are preggers!? I SOOO sympathize with you---Hope you can make it to the doc!!

one thing that really helps me a lot because i too get really bad cramps is the Chamomile Herb Tea!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.i drink it all day
