Question: Do I have to!?!?
I'm 14 years old!. My friends say that you should get a pap smear from a gyno when you around 13-15 years old!.!.!. I'm almost 15! Do I have to get one before then!? I hate doctors and it's my body!. Why do they have to do that!? I'm gonna cry! JK

Even though most women dont want to go through this, you should get a pap smear soon!. My sister went in for her first one when she was 18 and from that, her doctors found she had cervical cancer!. If she hadnt gotten it, it could have gotten worse and she could have gotten seriously ill!. So, my advice to you is to get a pap smear if you are sexually active or wait until you are 17, 18 if you are not sexually active!. Hopes this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com
You don't even have to be sexually active to be too sure that you might not need this check, but i suggest you do!.
1!. a test for cancer of the cervix, consisting of the staining of cervical cells taken in a cervical or vaginal smear (Pap smear or pap smear) for examination of exfoliated cells!.
2!. a vaginal Pap smear used to evaluate estrogen levels!.
3!. an examination of exfoliated cells in any body fluid, as sputum or urine, for cancer cells!.

Well I am 15, about to be 16 and I haven't gotten anything!. You dont HAVE to do it, its usually a choice by your parents, they just want to keep you healthy!. And you shouldnt hate doctors, yeah it is your body but thank them for keeping it healthy because without them theres lots of things that could have happened to you over the years that didn't, thanks to antibiotics and injections; created and given by doctors!. Also, as you get older you won't be so self conscious about your body and showing it to doctors, or at least I haven't been!. What you are experiencing is awkward, but to them its normal and if you are super tense about anything they explain it to you and keep you at ease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Actually, you do not have to get a pap smear unless you have had sex before!. It is not a "coming of age" type check up, it's something that sexually active people need to get!. If that isn't the case with you, then don't even worry about it!. If it is, then it is another consequence to having sex I suppose!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you are sexually active, you need one every year til you're over 50 years old!. You want to be sure you don't have an STD that you are not having symptoms from, that can damage your female organs, without treatment!.
Many guys will tell a girl that she is "the only one," when in fact she's not!.!.!.!.So everyone that HE sleeps with!.!.!.She sleeps with, too, and will possibly catch something from that "other person!."

It is probably a good time to start a healthy relationship with your gynecologist!. Make sure you tell your doctor that you are nervous about it, tell him/her your concerns - A good doc will be responsive to your fears and help you feel comfortable with your exam!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
