Can I skip a month of my birth control?!

Question: Can I skip a month of my birth control!?
I'm going on vacation and I plan to skip a month of my BCPs to lessen the hassle (because of the 15 hour time difference)!. I start my sugar pills the day I leave, so I plan to skip those, but how do I restart the pills when I come back!? Should I take it on the day my period starts or should I count the days on the pack and pretend I've been taking it during that month and start a new pack on the day I would have normally started if I hadn't skipped!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
The best thing to do would be to not stop taking your pills when you go on vacation!. However, if you plan to stop, making sure you are using a backup method such as condoms on your trip!. You can start taking your pills essentially at anytime when you get back!. If you do this you will need to use a backup method for the first seven days you are taking the pill!. You can also start taking them the first day of your next period!. If you do it this way, the pills will provide protection for the entire month!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The best bet is to read the instructions with the pills and pretend as if you are starting them for the first time again!. You do not necessarily have to start the first day of your period!.!.!. if you start the monday after it starts you'll be more likely to have the lovely period free weekends!.!.!. I think!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I don't think you're meant to stop for only a month!. this doesn't sound like a very good idea it may cause period irregularities!. also you will need to be on it at least 2 weeks before you can have sex again!. talk to your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sure you can skip your birth control, but use condoms if you have sex!. Also, wait 15 days after you start taking it again before having sex (or use condoms)Www@Answer-Health@Com
