The point is that she visited a homeopath!.!.!.!.they believe in only using natural products!. Of course he's going to say that!. Is there any medication out there that is good for us!.!.!.no, but it's there for a reason to either cure or prevent something from happening!. She needs to do research and talk to her OBGYN!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Contraceptive pills are not "good" for anyone of any age, strictly speaking!. They are specifically not recommended for women over 35, women who smoke, and women with a history of clots/high blood pressure, due to the significant risk of stroke and blood clots!.

The pill increases the risk of stroke/blood-clots in every woman, to some degree!. It can also cause melanin spots, depression, acne, and other hormone-affected problems!. Seeing as it alters the hormone-balance in her body, and "fools" it into behaving as though it is already pregnant, some side-effects are to be expected!.!.!. I'd imagine most homeopaths or alternative medics would advise against messing with ones hormones!.

Having said all that, the pill protects against pregnancy, and pregnancy brings plenty of its own risks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes it can be dangerous for any woman to take!. You're messing with nature's hormones when you take the birth control pill!. It basically fools your body into not ovulating until the last minute right before your period starts so there is no mid-cycle ovulation time to get pregnant!. But, that is why they are only 99% effective :o) There's still a chance!.

Anyhow, the risks include blood clots which can be fatal, swelling, dehydration, mood swings, depression, anxiety, breast tenderness and engorgement (this is not a good thing this time lol)!.

The main concerns to be mindful of are blood clots and also the 50% increased risk of breast cancer that comes along with taking the pill, if you are non child bearing!. If she's already had child #1 and has breastfed, then this risk declines sharply!. IF she has had no babies yet and has not breast fed, then she needs to be aware of the breast cancer risk!.

Hope it all works out, and it's wonderful you want to be well-informed of what you guys are putting into your body! :O)

Be safe!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Homeopaths should not be listened to when it comes to modern chemistry!. They are practicing an art that is based in the belief that ALL of life can be governed by "natural" remedies and in many cases that is NOT so!.

The pill is better taken EARLY in life, because as women age their risk of breast and other reproductive cancers increases!. BUT, taking BCPs can also reduce the risk of certain types of reproductive cancers such as endometrial and ovarian, and it can also reduce the incidents of ovarian cysts, uterine polyps and uterine fibroid tumors!.

I'd recommend that you tell your GF to listen to her LICENSED AND TRAINED MEDICAL PRACTITIONER and give the homeopath a WIDE berth and take whatever advice he/she offers with a HUGE mountain of salt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no!.!.!.!.she does not need to smoke!.!.!.!.!.my daughter has been taking birth control pills for 5 years now!.!.!.since she was 12 - - NOT for birthcontrol, but for a bleeding disorder!.!.!.von willebrand disease!.!.!.!.TRUST me!.!.!.I have talked to MANY drs! They are safe or she would NOT be taking them!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Birth control pills carry a risk of heart attack, blood clots, stroke, etc!. You receive that information with the prescription!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

No it can be used from the age of 12 (which it is when girls have irregular period issues), though your always best speaking to a Dr 1st (which can be confidential)Www@Answer-Health@Com

With all things medical it would be better to speak to either her GP or practice nurse for advice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Surely if it was that bad then doctors wouldnt perscribe it in the first place!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
