Going to the OB/GYN for yeast infection....!?!

Question: Going to the OB/GYN for yeast infection!.!.!.!.!!?
I'm 13 and my mom is taking me to the doctor for my yeast infection!. I was looking through some web pages and it says that they do a pap smear! At my doctor, you have to be sexually active to get one of those!. But my mom says you just pee in a cup!. I'm really scared about going!. What really do they do when you go to the doctor for a yeast infection!? Do they do anything to treat it!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
A pap smear isn't part of the procedure for a yeast infection!. You don't have to pee in a cup for it either!. For a yeast infection, the Dr will take a sample and send it off to a lab to test it for the infection!. Yes, he will examine you down there but nothing will hurt and you'll be OK!. The treatment used to be using an applicator and squirting some cream or a dissolving tablet into your vagina!. These days you just have to take this tablet, orally!. Just one tablet!.
Yes you are correct, a pap smear is only done on sexually active women!.

Congratulations, you are becoming a woman with all of the crap that goes with it!.

Don't worry babe, you'll be fine!.

Edit; Wow, yeast infections are treated strangely in where ever you all live!. Here in Australia it's just this tablet!. orally, once and it's gone!. And you just get it over the counter!.

Painted inside with gentian violet!?!?!?!?!? How old is your Dr!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well, they do a pap smear, but they also have you to pee in a cup!. I just went yesterday to get treated and the doctor swabbed my inside and outside with "Gentian Violet", a swabbing medication that kills out fungus!. Mention this medication to your mother to see what she has to say and she can mention it to your doctor or nurse!. It's considered to be REALLY good with yeast problems, with the only exception that it stains clothing!. You don't even have to apply it any more!. The doctor does it and that's it! It doesn't hurt or anything!. Some people complain that it burns a little bit but that's because it's killing out the yeast!. I hope this has helped!. :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Usually they ask you questions about what's wrong and they may use an instrument or their hands (with gloves on) to examine you to figure out what the problem is!. If you need a pap smear, that is when they insert an instrument to take a sample of tissue from inside--it feels weird, but doesn't hurt!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Thier are medicines you can take without a prescription from a drugstore but they want to find out if it is a yeast infection I guess!. Otherwise you can get a med from the store!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
