it seems to me that the first picture is showing that staying at home all day can drive you insane you feel restricted and depressed!. the second picture looks like it could be that of a celebrity her dress is socially constricting to the times and has a high neck like and stick shoulder/ arm movement showing that even though she is on top of the world she is still restricted by society and the "proper" way for her to act making both women similar in the way that they want to break from their norms!.
