Question: Can period problems be passed down!?
I'm 14 and one of the only girls in class not to have started my period!. I have no signs of starting either!. My worry is that my mum has a problem where she only has her period around once a year, and i was wondering if it could have been passed down to me!.

It might have been passed down!. It is not unusual to not have gotten your period yet!. Some women don't get it until they are 17! Everyone gets it at a different time!. If you are very worried you can talk to a gynecologist or your mom!. Good luck! Don't worry!. You are lucky you haven't gotten it yet!. Well your mom's problem might be more due to her age rather than anything else, or it could be a condition that you could have too!. The only way to know is to ask your mom to take you to the doctor to find out!. 14 is not that late to not have a period, some pepole don't get it until 16!. As well, you could talk to your mom regarding your concerns, perhaps she can better explain her medical history to put your mind at ease!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
ya it can be passed down my mom started her period the same time i did!! when she was a little girl and if this makes you feel any better im the only girl who has had my period in my class but ppl make fun of me for it so i wouldnt tell anyone if i were you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
yes it can be passed down but there are alot of girls who dont start their period until they are 16 or 17 some even not until they are 18 or 19 just give it time and you will probably get yours so i wouldnt worry too much but yes to answer it can be passed down!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes definately are genetic!. Go see your doctor!. Usually by 16 if you dont have it is when I would start to worry!. RIght now I wouldnt worry so much!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
