Sort of!.!.!.Once your body is mature enough and capable to carry a child (even though your too young to) you period starts!. If your very thin and underweight your body may not be ready until you mature more!. That's not to say someone that's 6st won't get their period because maybe that weight is suitable for their body type!. Many women who battle eating disorders lose their periods because of their lack of body fatWww@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt there is a "set weight" that you have to reach before you can have your first period, however, there is a low weight point that you can reach once you've already gotten your period, where your body no longer supports menstruation, but even that isn't a set weight!. It differs for every woman/body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you don't have to be a certain weight to get it, but you do have to maintain a high enough body fat to sustain it!. if your body fat drops too low, you stop having it (ex, many gymnasts and ballerinas don't get their periods)Www@Answer-Health@Com

No!. you can be underweight or overweight and still get your period for the first time!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
