My 13 year old daughter is having major menstrual cramps please help?!

Question: My 13 year old daughter is having major menstrual cramps please help!?
She is 13 will be 14 in Sept!.
She is cramping so bad and said the pains that come are sharp!.
She woke up at 7am and it is 10 am now!. At 7:30 she had 2 midol!.
At 9:30 when i woke up and heard her crying and pacing the floor i gave her and Aleve and a warm compress and asked her to lay down with a pillow under her legs and back to try to relax and breathe deep when the bad cramping comes!.
She is still in alot of pain however and informed me her cycle is a month and a half late and while she was away at school it ran late about every 3- 4 months out of the 9 months she was there!.

What should i think or do!. It was an all girls school by the way so NO she is not pregnant but we are concerned!.
When she first attended the boarding school i found out it did not come for close to 4 months and they did not inform me she did and told me it was normal because of the new environment and food!. However they told me later all was normal!.

How can i help her now to feel good!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

In the short term, also give her a hot water bottle to hold against her belly (you can get them from the drug store)!.

Sometimes it is normal when you are younger to skip around, but I think you should take her to the doctor to make sure everything is ok soon!. Sounds like it's really hard for her!.!.!.much harder than it should be!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Hot baths!. You may want to consult her doctor to see if theres anything he or she can give her during her time of the month!. Sorry to hear that!. Sux being a women dont it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Get something warm, like a warm cloth to hold against her tummy!.
Then take some advil and lay down :)
Watch TV and help take her mind off it!.

First things first, m'am!. I think your daughter should see a gynecologist!. Periods are inconvenient and uncomfortable for many!.!.!. but major pain and cramping is more unusual and should be dealt with!.

It may well be that just getting her onto birth control pills would regulate and lessen her periodic pain!. But before declaring BCPs the panacea to her problem, I again recommend that she see a doctor!. I know she's younger, but it's not unusual at all for 13-14 year old girls to be treated in a gyn practice!. Gyn practices are used to it, and they'll make the experience as gentle and comfortable as possible!. :)
