Breakthrough bleeding with bad odor (on pill)?!

Question: Breakthrough bleeding with bad odor (on pill)!?
I'm on my second pack of birth control pills!. I took antibiotics last week and was late for one pill on Saturday by an hour and a half!. Yesterday I got breakthrough bleeding and it has a very bad odor!. I know breakthrough bleeding is common when on the pill, but is it supposed to smell bad too!? It's brown with a mix of pink in it!. I've read that the brown is dead blood, so I'm guessing dead blood is supposed to smell bad!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The problem with the pill is, it has a way of making you pee a lot!. With the loss of water, you are also flushing out vitamins and sodium!. When you've flushed out too much sodium, you no longer have the ability to retain your water!. There's a tendency to bloat, and it makes you go tender!. This has a way of bringing on a sort of menstrual cycle!.
You can get some orange juice, or a sports drink, or if you like, just fix a bowl of soup!. The sodium will replenish your system and help you get back into balance!. It will also begin to plug you up!. Be aware that this could make you cramp, so be sure and get some acetaminophen about an hour ahead of time!. If you cramp, you will seem to start again!. Don't take aspirin!. It thins your blood and you will seem to continue bleeding!.
Don't fret over taking a pill an hour late!. That's nothing!. You are anxious and that is a sign of a sodium imbalance!. Forgetfulness and irritability are also signs of a low sodium!. Try and watch that next time!. If you start to show these signs, get the sodium and flush that excess fluid out of your system!.
I don't know what you took the antibiotics for, but it suggests that you weren't feeling too good!. You got a little run down, and now it's trying to snowball!. This should get it under control within the next 24 hours!. If, of course, this doesn't work with the first dose, by all means, get more sodium until it is effective!. But be sure and pace yourself!. The sodium could make you terribly thirsty!. You don't want to drink so much, you flush out all the sodium!. You're right back where you started!.
Don't worry about what color your flow is, just be aware that it sounds like you started out with a heavy menstrual flow!. You may have been dehydrated and you didn't have enough water to flush it out more gradually!.
I hope you feel much better soon!. My heart goes out to you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

To me all blood smells raunchy, but your right the brown stuff is dead blood, and is raunchier than the regular dark red blood!. If you are on antibiotics now, you doctor must have diagnosed you with an infection- if you were throwing up, then you might not have been able to keep the pill down, which would contribute to the breakthrough bleeding!. I wouldn't worry too much about this unless this is accompanied by pain!. If you are completely unsure, talk to your ob/gyn!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ive never experienced that, but a few of my friends have told me this happened!.
the only thing i can thnik of it it could eb the dead blood, plus i know that being on antibiotics can do that, because it kills off some kinds of bacteria and lets others thrive, this could be what is causing the odor!.
it this doesnt seem right, id check with your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ya its old blood!. I get that sometimes!. i am on the pill too!. It could be the anibiotics!. But just a warning: some anitbiotics causes the pill not to work!. So use protection! Talk to your doctor about it if it lasts for a while!. You may have to change pills!.

Hope this helpedWww@Answer-Health@Com

Old blood does smell bad, however infection of some sort will also produce a bad odor!. Call your doctor and ask them, they will tell you what to do or suggest you come in for an exam!. Dont ignore it, better to find out what is going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
