Question: When to start being sexually active!?
I heard my family talking about it and my little cousin started touching herself when she was 6!? Is this normal !?!!?!

It is very normal and even expected for children to start exploring their bodies at a young age!. It is not shameful or wrong!. It is actually quite healthy!. And there is no right age!.!.!.it is just an instinct that humans gradually develop!. Completely normal!. My son is one, and occasionally touches his "pee-pee" during diaper changes and laughs!. There are various opinions about this!. Freud was famous for explaining that pscychosexual development begins in infancy, and that it was not unusual for pre-adolescents to be at all curious about their bodies!. "Touching herself" really does not describe exactly what the child is doing!. There is certainly pleasure derived from stimulating various anatomical parts, but is that a sexually related pleasure!? It is doubtful that a child has adult-like thoughts when it comes to stimulating a body part!.
Unfortunately the intrusion of religion creates problems, especially in telling individuals to deny truths about their own desires, feelings, and anatomy!. If I were the parent, I would only worry if such behavior is done in public, and not in private!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

"touching herself" is self exploration!. Thats normal, its not masturbation!. Theres a massive difference between touching yourself sexually, and touching yourself out of curiosity, its wrong to jump to conclusions saying she wants sex, shes a little girl for goodness sake, she probably doesn't even know where a baby comes from or how they are made! At 6 i highly doubt she's having sexual thoughts while doing that, so there's nothing weird about it at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

that's human nature but mainly is seen with boys!. My son (5yrs old) touches himself not for pleasure but out of curiosity!. It's all a little weird of course if the parent is immature to this situation!. Your cousin is not being "sexually active" in her own mind!.

My friend has a 5 yr old who was grabbing herself and showing it to her mom and says it tickles it tickles, she took her to the doctor and they found she had a urinary track infection(the tickle she was describing was a itch)!. Maybe it is irritating her and she doesn't know what to do but touch it to make the irritation go away!.

I think it is normal to explore your body when you are a child, but chances are you have no idea what you are doing and why it may feel good!. However, if a 6 year old knows sexually forward things, then there is a good chance they have been exposed to adult information or maybe molested!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You'd be surprised where kids learn these things from!. The best thing you can do is to have an honest and open relationship with the kid (or the parent should) so that the child may have someone they can go to when they need advice and love!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Some little girls do figure it out that young!. However, most who are doing it that young have been touched by someone else first!. If the family is very religious, there is better than average likelihood that someone is molesting her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Ok that is kind of weird for a 6 year old to know about sex!. My 8 year old brother doesn't know the meaning of the word yet! Maybe she gets sexually harassed by a pedophile, such as a teacher or tutor!? And she's becoming like it!?!?
