Question: Ok I'm sexually active, I have merciless periods, and bad acne!. Mom's and teens answer!?
I am almost 17 and I have decided NOW is a great time to go on the pill!. Mother won't give me consent, so I'm thinking about going to the Health Center here!. They will give it to girls without parent consent and for free (because I don't have insurance)
I REALLY want to do this, but I don't want to go behind my mom's back like that!. If you were in my situation, would you do it!? And if you were my mom what would you think if you found out I did!?
PS: Mom Knows I'm sexually active, and knows about my evil periods!. :) She doesn't want me on the pill because she feels it might mess up my Hormones!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I can tell you what I did!. I sat down with my mother and told her that I wanted to go on the pill (which it sounds like you have)!. Then after the "no's", I asked my mom if she would at least come with me to the doctor to get the doc's opinion on the matter!. It was the doctor that ended up convincing my mom that the pill would work for me!. Apparently, she needed to hear it from a professional!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
When I was seventeen, I was in the same situation!. I went ahead and went to Planned Parenthood and got a pap smear and was put on birth control!. I went home and told my mom!. She just sighed and made an appointment with her gynecologist for me so I could get the birth control on the insurance!. My situation was easy!. But no one can predict how your mother will react!. Try to get some information from the clinic so you can show your mom how safe birth control is!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
tell her, "well i would use a condom but those have a 14% failure!. so would rather have me do "it" with a condom that wont work and might get pregnant !? or have nothing since u wont let me have BC and condoms r as good as not having them with a HUGE chance of getting prego !? or, have BC and be 100% free of the chance of me getting prego !? it actually helps with my periods too !" try taking Yaz!. it helps with:

You probably just have alot of hormones rushing through you right now!. This explains the tough periods and acne!. As far as the pill goes their really isn't to much you can do about that!. Either your mom/dad gives consent and you get pills or you have to wait until you get to be 18!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Your mom needs to go with you, and they need to give her some counseling, if she knows that you are sexually active, and refuses the pill for you (along with condoms, use both!) Then she needs to be educated!.

i think it's good you're looking into staying safe and not getting pregnant!. not to mention treating your other problems too haha!. personally, if you're going to continue having sex, do it anyways!. if your mom finds out you did it, just explain to her that you did it for your own safety, because you don't want to bring a child into the world when you're not ready to be a mother!.

I don't know how to put this nicely: Your mother is being ridiculous, especially if she already knows you are sexually active!. Go to the clinic, get the pills, and be done with it!. It's not going to mess up your hormones; the benefits far outweigh the risks!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Today's pills are safer than ever, but there are always risks!.!.!. Yaz has a great track record so far, and may very well help with the period misery and acne too!.!.!.

I wasn't sexually active when I started taking the pill at 12!. It was actually my mom that went to my pediatrician at the time and beg her to do something so that I could stop crying, vomiting, and screaming for someone to take me out of the misery I go through everytime I had my period!. I've actually been on the pill for over 10 years and I haven't been told by a dr!. that my hormones are messed up!.
I think it is responsible that you are like look I'm having sex, not trying to get pregnant and you are wanting to take steps to prevent that as well as help those evil cramps (as you call them)!.
Maybe you should get some literature that shows the perks of you getting on birthcontrol ie!. Regulating your cycle, helping with acne (due to start at a young age, I NEVER had acne during my teenage years), lessens or preventing you from having painful cramps, and most important PREVENTING PREGNANCY!.
I hope that even though you aren't on birthcontrol, you are at least using condoms!?!?!!?

I'm totally against the pill for the very reasons your mom has brought forward!. I would be glad that you have take the responsibility to go on the pill but I would much rather you used condoms and female doms and try and persuade my child to use a that form of protection!. This is my reaction being a mum but at the same time I was 17 less then five years ago and was using the pill just to be on the safe side because of all the accidents my boyfriend and I encountered so I do understand!. What made me decide to stop using the pill was my constant questioning on the egg and what happened to it, and would it cause me to be infertile in the future!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
