Question: Colonoscopy scare!.!?
I had a colonoscopy procedure done yesterday!. Thank goodness all was fine!. But I am swollen up like a balloon!. I am a thin woman almost too thin!. Now my belly looks like a beach ball!. What the heck did they do to me!? I can't even do up my jeans!. When will I be normal again (or deflate)!? My friend told me they use helium, now I am freaking out about poison gas in my body!.Is she kidding!? I am really scared about this, I look huge!. If any body else has gone through this did your butt also puff up a bit!? I am freaking out!. And I planned to go swimming tommorow!. I don't think my swim suit will fit!. Yes it's that bad really!. the bloating will be there for up to 2 weeks!.when they do the procedure they put air(just regular air) inside of u so they can insure that they will see everything!. so lol expect to be passing some major gas!Www@Answer-Health@Com
They inflate the colon so the camera can move through and have room to take the images!.
This is a little icky, but bear with me: get on your hands and knees on your bed, put your head down on a pillow so your bottom is in the air, and stay that way for a while!. Wiggle your hips from time to time!. Twenty minutes of that will probably get most of the air to the rectum, so you can release it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had this procedure done several years ago and I feel your pain!. I had the same problem with being petite and my belly swelling!. And no they do not use helium! you just have to pass the gas!. Pull on some sweat pants and go for a walk and toot toot toot!Www@Answer-Health@Com
Did you get a barium meal!? If so I suggest you take some bicarbonate of soda, about 1/2 tsp in half a glass of water, that will conteract the effects of the barium!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You should ask your doctor if its been more than 4 hours!. It could be maybe your expecting your period and your just bloating!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
They fill you up with air when you have the procedure done!. You are supposed to let that gas out! Also known as passing wind or farting!. Seriously, that's how you get rid of it!. Weren't they asking you to push out the gas in the recovery room!? And no, it's not helium!. When you say "butt puff a bit", I assume you mean you are a bit swollen, like in the region where they inserted the scope!? If so, that should go down in a day or two!. Use ice packs, lined with plastic or something else so you don't get frostbite (not kidding!), and apply it to the swollen area in your butt!. If any of this becomes worse, call your doctor!Www@Answer-Health@Com
