Surgery wont hurt, they use local or general anesthetics so that the procedure is painless!.
However, the pain afterwards is like a very sore bruise and it can last for ages!. Pain killers are usually given and some people do not feel any pain at all!.
I would say that there are some very sick people waiting to have surgery which is necessary for their well being!. If you go and deliberately injure yourself then you are taking the place in hospital that they need!.
