Do i have a yeast infection? Please help.?!

Question: Do i have a yeast infection!? Please help!.!?
I've been reading a lot around the place about yeast infections and i just wanted to confirm that i had one!. 'Down there' has a distinct smell, i have clumpy white discharge - cottage cheese like and it is itchy then stings if i scratch!.
I have only had intercourse once about a year ago with someone who was a virgin and it was 'safe', so it couldn't be a STD could it!?
I am under quite a lot of stress at the moment studying in year 12 and have only been getting a few hours of sleep, could this be a cause!?
Is there anything i can do to get rid of it at home without going to a doctor!? I'm too embarassed to talk to my mum about it!.
I've had the same symptoms before a month or so ago and it went away itself within a few days!.
Thanks heapsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
just go to the chemist and get some tablets and cream,i had thrush last month, went away by itself and came back last week, very annoying,i doubt very much its an std,it definatly sounds like thrush, the pill can trigger it of,along with your period, and not drying properly after a bath, its nothing to worry about, but if you have it more than twice go to the doctors!x naturall yogurt also gets rid of it xWww@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like it to me!. Women get yeast infections from using perfumed soaps, lotions, toilet paper that is colored, etc!. It's very common!. Just pick up some Monistat, has the one day insert and comes wit the cream for the itching!. Good Luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

fresh yoghurt helps so ive heard!.
btw do you say your name jade!? i like spelling of how you spell it!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

it sounds like a yeast infection, but you really shouldn't self diagnose it!. Go see a doctor!. Believe me, your mum knows what it's like, she has probably had one or two herself!. You are VERY lucky if a yeast infection went away by itself, it can very very easily turn into a urinary tract infection!. You think you're uncomfortable now!?!!? I really wouldn't worry about it being an STD!. There are no home solutions that work!. You could try eating yogurt!. (by the way, stress is a very well known cause of yeast infection!)Www@Answer-Health@Com
