Please dont worry at all!. My mum had the same thing and had it sorted last week!. All they did was drain it so there is no scar or anything!. Honestly, there is no need to worry whatsoever, it will all be fine!.

All the best and hope that helps

nickelba- There are a couple of possibiolities fortreatment of a sebaceous cyst!. Guidance from The Mayo Clinic provides the following:

Treatments and drugs
Cysts that don't cause cosmetic or functional problems are usually left alone!. When a cyst is inflamed, ruptured or infected, these treatment options exist:

Corticosteroid injections!. Your doctor may inject an inflamed but uninfected epidermoid cyst with a corticosteroid to help reduce the inflammation!.

Incision and drainage!. In this procedure, your doctor makes a small cut in the cyst and expresses the contents!. Although incision and drainage is relatively quick and easy, cysts often recur after this treatment!.

Total excision!. This surgical technique removes the entire cyst and so prevents recurrence!. The downside is that total excision requires sutures and is more likely to leave a scar than other treatments are!.

Minimal excision!. Some doctors prefer this technique because it removes the whole cyst wall but causes minimal if any scarring!. During the procedure, your doctor makes a tiny incision in the cyst, expresses the contents, and then removes the cyst wall through the incision!. The small wound is usually left to heal naturally!.

Lasers!. To minimize scarring, your doctor may use a carbon dioxide laser to vaporize an epidermoid cyst on your face or other sensitive area!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

If it does have to be removed, I assume it involves cutting the skin!. As long as you take good care of it by keeping the wound moist and clean and even using topical creame like Polysporin the scar should be minamal or barley noticeable!. As i'm not really sure with the details of your condition the link below provides some information on the surgical and non surgical procedures of removing a sebaceous cyst!. In my opinion both of them pain free!.

An antibiotic won't treat a sebaceous cyst, sorry!. Did your doctor diagnose it and refer you!? If so, may need to have it excised!. They use a tiny needle to put in the medicine that numbs it up!. After that it won't hurt!. The scar would be tee-tiny and if its between your breasts, it won't be noticeable!. Be sure always to keep that area and the area under your breasts clean and dry, even if it means using anti-perspirant, and you will prevent them in the future!. Good luck!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

I doubt you will need a needle!. How painful is it!? I would
think that he will look at it and decide if he can drain it or
will have to surgically excise it!. If he can drain it he might
just give a quick flick with the scapel and open it up and
let the contents flow out then bandage it and give you some
antibiotics!. He may just give you antibiotics!. If he has
to surgically excise it then you are probably looking at either a needle or an iv and it will be remove entirely!. It is unlikely to scar there!. At your age doctors are really careful not to scar!.
I am 60 years old and they don't give a darn about us old
cows!. Don't be terrified of needles!. Think about it!. What is to be frightened of!? It is just a small quick pain and it is over!.
Don't look at it!. Look away and talk to the doctor or nurse who is doing it!. They will chat with you and it will be over in a second!. If you are really nervous take your Mum or a friend with you to help distract you!. Life is too short to be afraid of such a little thing sweetie!Www@Answer-Health@Com
