get midol, advil or whatever you prefer to ease the pain and discomfort!.!.!.!.
tampons make it feel less 'icky' -- use a pad if you prefer, but make sure its a good one that covers well -- if you get a leak, it will be embarrassing!.

There's nothing really wrong with tampons but you have to get to know your body a little bit before you use them!. If you're not comfortable with the idea of putting something into your body then stick with the pads until you are!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If you choose to use tampons as they tend to be easier to carry and get rid of don't sleep with one in as they need changing every few hours or you could suffer from toxic shock syndrome, not nice!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
