I get Horrible cramps during my period...?!

Question: I get Horrible cramps during my period!.!.!.!?
I mean baddddd ones!. Where I curl up in a ball and want to cry!. lol Midol does NOT work for me at all!. I will take 3 or 4 advil or tylenol and it will help a little bit, but not much!. I've tried heating pads and hot baths, they also help a little, but not much either!. I'm 17, and I'm starting a job late July, and the way my period affects me, I honestly don't know how I'm going to deal with having a job and having these horrible cramps!.
I've heard birth control helps!.!.!.But my mom is super weird about stuff like that!. Thinks I will become an instant tramp or something!. Does the pill actually help!? And is there somewhere I can get it for cheap without my mom knowing!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
yes, birth control does help, I had my daughter start taking it because she would miss school because the cramps were so bad, I was the same way!. whatever you do, do not take too much tylenol or any other pain reliever, you can alternate advil and tylenol, but never take more than the recommended dosage, it can kill you!. another thing you can do, even though it sounds like the last thing you would feel like doing, is exercising or walking, it helps relax the muscles!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, the pill helps immensely!. I started it when I was sixteen, and before I started taking it, I had such terrible cramps that I vomited and just couldn't function, even with all sorts of pain pills!. Thankfully, my mom was in the same situation as a teenager, so she understood!. Maybe you could look up some information online to help convince her!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

The pill should help!. You can try planned parenthood if you can't get your mom to agree with it!.

And maybe you need to try to exercise!. It might help!. Or more pain killers!.

If you realllllly can't handle it, see a doctor!. If you can't afford it, try the gyno at planned parenthood!. It could be something more serious!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes I would definitely say the pill helped me with my cramps!. I'm off it right now and I get the worst ones!. I think you should talk more to her about it, especially if she sees you in pain every month!. My birth control was for my acne so my mom was okay with it!. I also started when I was 17!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Stay away from birth control if you can or any pill the gynocologists give you, considering you're a bit young!. Have you tried Ibuprofen!? I don't know what to tell ya, but it's part of life, almost every girl has to go through it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

im 11 and im on my period i get them to the horrible my mom gives me this motrine pill that doesnt even work and im leaking more than ever!im trying to look up something how to stop these cramps and nothing comes up good luck to ya!Www@Answer-Health@Com

cold shower or waterbottle and motrin all the pill does is lighten your periods!. and relieves bloating and cramps!. there is no OTC birthcontrol :(Www@Answer-Health@Com

Um I use tilonal, heating pads, and wear slippers or socks to keep my feet warm (it helps)Www@Answer-Health@Com

have you tried herbal medications!? there are teas that help a LOTWww@Answer-Health@Com

i have the same sort of problem!. painkiller doesn't work!. gah!. what i use is a product called Naprogesic!. it works a charm for me!. a big cause of period pain is eating a lot of junk food or sugar!. if this is the cause, cut right back, and it should ease up a bit!. good luck! and if you feel the pill would be a better way to go, talk to your mum about it, say that she needs to place more trust in your judgement, and that if she wants to cause you to go through the pain because of her own opinions, she is being selfish, and she should rethink the situation around her!. once again, good luck, and i hope any of this helps :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
