Well firstly I think you need to tell your mum, there's nothing to be embarassed about, we've all been there and I'm sure she'll understand, afterall, she's been there too!
I'm not too sure about the swimming party really, I think for your very first period it's best to use sanitary towels just to get used to it and then try tampons in a couple of months time if you feel happy enough to!.
Obviously towels are quite chunky and would certainly be visable through a swimsuit and I'm sure you'd hate that!. Perhaps it might be wiser to make your excuses and miss out, although I'm sure you don't want to!. Perhaps you could go along and watch from the side if you really want to go still!?
Lastly though, you need to tell your mum, it's important that she's there to help you, and remember there's nothing to be embarassed about, it's natural xxWww@Answer-Health@Com

say your feeling really off and its bad to go swimming when your ill cos tampons aren't good for a first timer and you cant wear a pad when you're swimmin!.
tell your mum and call your friend and say you cant go, its sad but im sure there will be another time you can go swimmn with them, i had to cancel goin swimming when i first started :(

I can't tell you how many times when I first got mine it would come on a day I was swimming, canoeing, etc!. At least 3 times in a row!. It was a PAIN! But I just didn't go, because I didn't want to swim and didn't want people to urge me into the water and make fun of me if I didn't get in!. if you do go, you will need to wear a tampon!. if not then it's not worth risking the embarrasment of bleeding in the pool!.

!.I would go to thelocal shop and get SMALL tampos (minis)!. Read instructions carefully!. Its not too difficult!. That way you can definately go swimming!. Make sure yo remeber to take it out though because its dangerous to leave in!.

I know it can be hard but you have to tell your mom, even if you decide not to go to the pool party!. I don't know how old you are but I was only 11 when I started and I dreaded telling my mom!. But you've got to!. Just get some tampons, small ones, and make sure you know how to use them (get the ones with instructions because I doubt you want to have that talk with your mom if you don't even want to tell her you started)!. They are fine for you to use, in fact some companies make tampons specifically for teens!. Whatever you do, DO NOT SWIM WITHOUT A TAMPON!! I don't care what anyone says, you cannot come up with any excuse that people won't see right through!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
it's so normal to be shy to talk to ur mum about ur period but she had it be4 and all u no she could a ton of help and im not going to suggest tampons only if u wear them but just sit outside of the pool and chill talk 2 ur friends but just go in the pool with some shorts on and then get out and go to the bathroom and check urself then go back out! good luck hoped i helped ! :]Www@Answer-Health@Com
First of all, you should tell your mom! It's totally normal thing, nothing to feel embarrassed about! Happens to every single girl in the world!. It's fine to go swimming as long as you use a tampon!. Some girls say they don't want to use a tampon but they are nothing to worry about in the slightest!. yes of course u can still go just use a tampon while in the pool and no1 will ever know u have your periods they are really comfortabe to use you wont even know its there and they let u carry on with everyday activities(such as swimming)

you shouldn't have to miss out on a swimming party just because you started ur period!. You can still go, you'll just have to wear a tampon!. Don't wear a pad, because twhen they get wet they get all nasty and fall apart, kinda like a diaperWww@Answer-Health@Com

my friend went 2 a pool party with her period and she wore a tampon!. She jumped into the pool and the tampon went flying out! She was rly imbarassed!. So just keep that in mind and do it if u feel up to it!.

Yes, wear a pad in your suit and tell your mom! You shouldn't wear tampons because they are more for adults (that's what the nurse said at my school) and they can sometimes be unsafe and also aren't for people that just get their period!. If you end up bleeding, get out, put a towel around you and say, "I was bleeding because I got a cut on my upper leg from falling off stairs" or something and you should swim in board shorts over your bathing suit bottom so it looks more reasonable or you can wear a red bathing suit and say that the bathing suit dye leaks because it's so red or something!.!.!.That way you don't have to be afraid to wear a tampon!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
