I know it seems like you have already been having your period for a while, but it is not outside of the normal limits to have irregular periods for up to seven years after the onset of menarche (the beginning of your periods)!.

Keep in touch with a good gynecologist, have yearly Pap smears and gynecological checkups, as you apparently have been having, and things will probably settle down in a couple of years!.

It is possible that if they continue to be irregular after two or three more years that something additional may be going on and some hormonal intervention may be necessary, but still that does not necessarily indicate that you will not be able to have successful pregnancies in the future!.

Think of it this way, a lot of girls your age are pretty miserable every month, and your body is giving you a little break, just taking its own time to get to where it's ready to be when you are ready to be a mom!.

Hope this helps, and good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

It means you're not ovulating or are not ovulating very often!. Even though you don't want kids it's important to figure out the cause (because there is one) so that you can get your hormones back in balance to prevent cancer from developing when you get older (which lack of progesterone can cause)!. Also, having fewer than 3 periods per month can lead to endometrial cancer!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I started my period at age 11 and used to have heavy periods and then one day I just stopped and wouldn't have a period for 6 months at a time!.!. I found out that I have polycystic ovarian syndrome when I was 16 and now I am on metformin which regulates my periods but also allows me to get pregnant!.!. so you may want to check on that or check on birth control pills!.!. I took them when I was your age and they definitely helped regulate my period!.!. now I get a period every month like clockwork!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

being ur age with irregular periods are extremely common so dont worry much about it girl, its nothing serious!. as u get older, it will become regular with a normal cycle, and yes!.!. u will be able to have children whenever u are ready!. if u want ur period to be normal asap, hop on a birth control method, such as pills!.!. it will give u a normal cycle every 28 days!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

In time it will get regular!. Do not worry !. But if you like you can take hormonal tablets for three months to make it regular!.
Please consult your doctor!.
My advise is for you to wait some more!.
I assure you that there will be no health problems as a result!.
By the way taking hormonal tablets is harmless!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i had a similar problem because i was really irregular and my doctor put me on birth control and within 2 months i was regular!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

when i first got my period it came every other month and sometimes i wish that was still the case lolWww@Answer-Health@Com

Listen to the doctor!.
Your just irregular!.
My cousin was the same way!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

just listen to the doctor!. if you're still worried, ask a different doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

OMG I was exactly the same! Got my first period at 13!.!.!. it was ridiculously heavy, I'd have to use a super pad and super tampon!.!.!.
But anyways, my period would come every 6 months and last for 40 days, but I never had cramps so thats a good thing!. I talked to my doc, he'd never heard of anything like it, but put me on birth control and within 2 months it was normal!. I've been on b!.c for about 6-7 years now!. A doc took me off it for a while, because he said it was unhealthy, but in the 5 months after he took me off I never once got my period so he put me back on it!.
I don't want kids either, so I'm okay if I can't, but I'm also unsure if my irregular cycle or being on b!.c!. so long means that I'm unfertile!.
Ask for a type of birth control to regulate it!. Or go to a women's or teen clinic and they'll probably give it to you for free!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
