Answers:
I have cystic breasts, which I found out after I found a mondo-big lump a year or so ago, and the doctor ordered a mammogram and a breast ultrasound!. The good news: such benign lumps can, and frequently do, shrink, as in my case!.

If your lump turns out to be malignant: here's the good news!. The doctor found it when it was still, as you describe it, a little lump!. What will happen is the doctor will call you, probably the same or next day, if action is required, and you will be able to get in for a procedure quickly, which heightens the success of surgery!. You may or may not need one of several types of treatment, like radiation or chemo, following this!. This entirely depends!. The type of surgery you would need would entirely depend, as well!. Only your doctor, and if necessary, your surgeon, if it is a different person, would be able to make that call!. There is no one pat answer as to what you would need, because, as I said, it's highly subjective to what you have, where you have it, and what its progression is!.

In general however, you can count on getting the lump removed quickly, and quickly beginning a course of treatment, of whatever kind the doctor recommends!. Whatever treatment you have, you may experience some side effects, like nausea, hair loss, etc!.--but then again, depending on your treatment, you may not!. Like I said, it just depends!.

The best thing to do is not to stress about it until the tests have been done, and a diagnosis of malignancy, or for that matter, benignity, is made!. To worry ahead of time is counter-productive, because it can actually make you feel ill and very depressed, and possibly even give you anxiety or panic attacks!. I know the feeling of finding "something", you know not what, in your breast, and feeling like you've just been smacked in the head, or see spots, or something!. It's very, very frightening!. The good news is, as the years pass, the medical community has more and more and more success treating whatever the problem may be, and the surgeries, when necessary, are extremely effective!.

Be kind to yourself!. I know how you feel!. The best thing you can do is to de-stress as much as possible!. If you are already having a great deal of anxiety or even panic attacks, do call your doctor immediately!. Perhaps a mild sedative for a few days would be in order, and could help immensely!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
