Why must you have had at least one child to take this birth control?!

Question: Why must you have had at least one child to take this birth control!?
With the birth control, Mirena, it states that you must have at least one child to get this form of birth control inserted!. And also that you must be in a stable relationship!.

Why is this!? Becuase I would like to have this form of birth control but I dont have a child and I'm not currently in a stable relationship!. So I was curious why you have to have those two things to get the birth control!? Thanks so much!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
Mirena is an IUC (intrauterine contraceptive) delivered by an IUD (intrauterine device) that needs to be inserted into your uterus!. This is geared towards women who have had a child because the uterus/cervix has been stretched and is easier to insert (and keep in place) the IUC!. Also, if you've been pregnant you're more likely to know if you have a history of ectopic pregnancies (fetus somewhere other than the uterus, usually the fallopian tube) which can be fatal if you have Mirena inserted!. This is also a contraceptive, so won't protect you from STDs so the target population are women in a monogamous relationship (otherwise, you would use a condom which protects against STDs and pregnancy)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I used to hear old people say that you must have a child first before using any kind of artificial birth control!. Because of the side effects of these birth control, there could be a chance that you might not have a baby anymore after using them for a long time!. So if you already have a baby before you use the birth control then even if you lose the chance of having a baby again, it wont be that bad because you have had a baby anyway even just one!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is more likely that the device will be expelled from the cervix in younger women that have never had kids, which isn't good!.

It stretches the cervix while being inserted, so it's easier in women whove had babies!.

Also, it says a stable relationship because women in those are at a lower risk for STD's!. In women with Mirena, getting at STD increases the risk of pelvic inflammatory disease, which will make you infertile!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You don't have to have had children - the medical community recently decided that the rule is unnecessary!. There is a higher risk of expulsion in women who haven't had children, because their cervixes haven't been stretched before!. But other than being slightly more painful, there's no reason to not use an IUD if you haven't had kids!. Some clinics still won't insert them in women who haven't had kids - just call around until you find one that does!. It's funny, in Europe the IUD is a really common form of birth control, and lots of women without children use it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should be in a stable relationship because it does NOT protect for sexually transmitted diseases!.!.!.

It could impact your ability to have a child if you use it before first having a child!.

You might want to discuss an IUD with your doctor!.!.!. they are similar in that they offer long term protection against pregnancy !.!.!.!. Mirena is and IUC that also contains hormones!.!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
