A medical assistant will first ask you about your medical/family history then take your blood pressure!. She will then ask you to remove your clothing, and give you a Johnnie coat and ask to leave it open in the front (backwards)!.
The doctor will come in and insert a metal instrument to open your vagina!. It is uncomfortable but not painful!. The doctor will then take a long swab and get a sample of the lining of your cervix!. You will hardly feel this!. This is a Pap smear!.
The doctor will then insert his/her fingers into your vagina and at the same time feel your lower stomach on the outside in order to actually feel your ovaries and look for abnormalities!.

ok!. well ive been there about 3 times!. a pap smear is to cheack if you have cervical cancer!. all they do is stick this itty bitty penis looking thing in you and open it and stick a long Q-tip in you and pull it out!. its not fun but it dosent hurt or anything!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
