Second period in 3 weeks, any ideas?!

Question: Second period in 3 weeks, any ideas!?
I had my period about 3 weeks ago I was on the pill and it started of brown so I stopped taking the pill it went red and lasted longer then normal (close to 10 days, normaly only lasts about 5) then 10 days after it stopped it has come back again (again brown and very light) and I am taking the pill!. I dont understand why this would be happening, I am 24yrs old and married nearly 2 years and been on the pill about 3half yrs and I have always had regular periods, why would I be getting them while I am taking the pill and why would it be old blood!?
If anyone has any ideas please let me know!.
I posted a question last night but didnt get a lot of answers!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
In normal periods, there is a monthly build up of the womb lining, to prepare for a fertilised egg; then it is sloughed off causing some bleeding!.
With the birth control pill, the normal hormone cycles that cause periods are blocked out, and replaced by the steady level of hormones from the pills -- this cuts off that part of the cycle that causes ovulation!.

What you get for "periods" on the pill is a withdrawal bleed, caused by the hormone levels going low!. It is quite normal to sometimes get "breakthrough" bleeding, when you're not supposed to have any, especially if you have missed or been late taking a pill or two!. This will look like brown "old" blood because there is so little of it, it takes 2 days to reach outside!. By stopping the pill you turned it into an out-of-turn withdrawal bleeding!. Now you have mixed up the cycles by stopping and restarting them!.

The easiest and nicest way to fix this is, keep taking the next 3 months of pills one after the other!. Do not leave a gap (or don't take the blank sugar ones, if your pack has them)!. At the end of this, the bleed might be a bit more than usual, but it will "reset" you on a regular cycle!. (Do not stop them for any breakthrough bleeding if you get that again)!.
Many women do only take a break every 3 months, but this is not recommended long-term!.

If you are still on the same brand you started on 3 years ago, on the next routine visit you could ask your doctor to consider changing them; this is the best way to get rid of slow-developing side-effects like this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should really see a doctor hon, the problem your having is probably caused by the pill, but I would take no chances on your health if I was you!. Have a great day!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
