Crazy mood swings on birth control?!
Question: Crazy mood swings on birth control!?
I started taking Yasmin last year!. For the first month or so, I had CRAZY mood swings!. They were awful!. After that, my moods leveled out to a point where I felt even better than before I was on the pill!.
In March, my husband and I decided to ttc, but after a few months of trying we decided it wasn't the best time!. Now I've gone back on it!. I've only been taking it for 2 days, but already I've gotten the terrible mood swings back!.
Did this happen to any of you on Yasmin!? What about any other birth control!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

My experience with Yasmin is the opposite!. It got rid of my mood swings and PMS!. Everyone reacts differently on medication so you should go back to your doctor and let them know about the side effects you're having!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Anytime you interrupt a pill (i!.e!. skip it for a month or longer), the body has to get used to the hormones in it all over again!. So will be similar to when you first started taking the pill!. If you don't want to deal with this again, talk to the doctor about finding a different pill that may work better with your body!. Give that one a try for a few months and see if you like it better!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
A woman I work with had her tubes tied (after 3 kids) because she says "birth control makes her crazy" so I'm sure you're experiencing the same thing she is!. I personally was on Junel for about a year and 1/2 and I think my only side effect was having no sex drive at all, and I've heard other girls say that too!.
(I was in college at the time and Junel Fe (fe=iron) is probably the cheapest stuff that the clinic could hand out, so maybe not all birth controls are like that)Www@Answer-Health@Com

birth control essentially mimics the effects of pregnancy chemically, thereby tricking your body into not ovulating!. the birth control is likely the cause!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
It may have just been your body getting used to it again, you jolted your hormones again with an extra umph!.
I was on Ortho Tricyclen Lo and that made me a crazy ----- if you know what i mean ;)
I had worse head aches and cramps and felt like i was going insane a bit and it also ruined my sex drive!. All in all making me feel a tiny bit depressed!.
my doc at the time said it's just my body getting used to it, and it calmed down a teeny bit after a year but after another year i said NO WAY
and now they actually switched me to Yasmin and I feel awesome on it!. Even the first couple packs i can remember not having anything crazy happen except my periods were a bit heavier then normal but now are super light!.
Yasmin is a totally different hormone and reacts totally different on each individual, apparently my body need the Drospirenone hormone that's in Yasmin, rather than the norgestimate hormone in Ortho and many others cause i can't handle it!.
you may need to switch to the norgestimate i'm not sure
your doc can help with that better, cause there are sooooo many bc's out there now!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
