Pad first!. Just so you get used to your flow, and so you can get used to knowing how often you have to change your pad!. That way you can determine what kind of tampon u should use!. I started using tampons on my second period!.
PS: if you stop getting your period for a few months, its normal! It will take a year or two for you to be getting your period every month of a year!. I havnt had mine for the past four months!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Start with a pad since they are the easiest and most convenient (you don't need a nice relaxing stretch of time in order to change them when you're new to this)!.
However, I started wearing tampons the 2nd day of my first cycle, but I was experimenting at home and I strongly suggest taking pads with you places rather than tampons for now, because it is sometimes stressful to try and change a tampon in a tight little bathroom stall (it even still gets to me and I've been on the rag for 6 years)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i perfer tampons!. i like them because they are way more comfortable, well that is, if you put it in right!. and once they're in, you can say bye-bye to leaks!. but i did start out with pads!. i do find them a little gross, because you are just sitting in it!. but if you wear pads, you dont have to worry about tss!. but it depends on you, yourself!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
well i used pads and then the day after i first got it me and my cousins were meant to be going to this waterpark i really wanted to go but didnt but then i used one to go in my cousins pool ater i was only 11 and am pretty sure i inserted it wrong :S i have never used one sinceWww@Answer-Health@Com
i think its best 2 start with pads to see what ur period is like and how it works, then a few months later u can go 2 tampons (just remember 2 wear pads @ night)!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
