Tampons? time? -confused-?!

Question: Tampons!? time!? -confused-!?
Okay, I really have NO idea what to think anymore!. I'm 14, and a die hard lover of tampons (i swear, gods gift to women)!. I have a moderate flow, and I use playtex gentle glide slender tampons!. I always leave them in at least 5 or 6 hours, because that's when they fill up!. Now i'm hearing this stuff that you have to change them every 2 or 3 hours! is this true!?

I heard that you can go up to eight hours, and use the lowest absorbancy possible!. i have the second part down, but im still so sonfused on the timing!! ive been using tampons for about a year now, and nothing ever happened to me!.

am i at greater risk of infection!?!? please help!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
you're fine
you can definitely leave them in for 8 hours
the people who tell you it's dangerous to leave them in for more than 3 are just paranoid idiots
even the instructions in the box tell you that you can leave them in for up to 8
and you're not at a greater risk
i always leave them in for 8 hours and use the regular absorbency and i'm still alive (and i've been using them for quite a while)
tss doesn't happen that easily
seriously, don't worry about itWww@Answer-Health@Com

You can leave them in up to eight hours safely, and you are doing the right thing by by using the lowest absorbency!. If women have tampons filling in such a short time, they are most likely not using the proper absorbency!. (However, I used to go through a Super Plus in about an hour- so now I'm on birth control!)Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well no matter what even just using a tampon your still at risk so you would think the longer you leave it in (with out it over flowing of course) that means less tampons and less chance of risk ya know!.!.
but if your really worried try using pads while at home and when you go out or something then use them gifts god gave women lol hope this helps :DWww@Answer-Health@Com

if you leave them in for too long bacteria can build up and it can cause you pass out!. it's called Toxic Shock Syndrome its rare, but serious illness caused by a staph infection!. The symptoms include a sudden high fever, diarreah, vomitting, sun-burn rash, muscle aches, etc!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

2-3 hours is just a reccomendation!.You can keep them in for a while and nothing will happen!.Just make sure you don't keep them in for more than 10 hours!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Anything from 4 to 8 hours is fine!. Or less than 4 that is ok too!. But if you take it out when it hasn't absorbed much it will feel uncomfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I usually leave it for about 6-8 hours!. I've been using them for 10 years and I've had no problems!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its just safer to have them in for about 6 hours max so no bacteria builds up!. and its much much cleaner!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

no 6 hours max!Www@Answer-Health@Com

i say it's more sanitary to changed them more often then not, i am a firm believer in pads, tampons are so uncomfortable and if it ain't a penis or a baby it don't belong in the hole!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
