Tampon blocking flow?!

Question: Tampon blocking flow!?
okay, i put in a tampon yesterday, and i left it in for about 4-5 hours!. I wasnt leaking or anything, but i could feel the tampon kinda expanded in me, if u know what i mean!. it was pretty easy to take out, but then i noticed that only the top of it was soaked in red blood!.

the rest of it was very light pink/white but still wet!. and the moment i took it out, my blood started coming out like heck!!!! i felt like a fountain =) so anyway, i was wondering, did i do something wrong!? why did the blood only soak the top and them come down in torrents once i took it out!?

please help - i feel kinda hesitant to put in another one!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Nope you did fine!.

What absorbency and type of tampon did you use!?

Perhaps a blood clot blocked the blood from going into the tampon!?

If you are worried about it though talk to your doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You should try using a menstrual cup instead of using tampons!. They're really helpful, but most women don't know anything about them so I'll give you some information if you're interested!. I prefer my divacup menstrual cup over tampons because!.!.

-it's comfortable (you can't even feel it's there when it's inserted properly)
-no string to pee on
-no risks of leaking (it opens up all around and has a suction protection seal)
-no risk of TSS
-can be safely worn for up to 12 hours
-it's better for the environment
-it's cheaper
-it's convenient (i don't ever have to make a last minute run to the store for tampons or worry about stashing a box of tampons in my bag on trips)
-it's better for the sea creatures (do you know how many tampon applicaters get thrown onto beaches!? yuck!)
-no need to waste my money on something i will buy and then throw away
-if you're ever stranded on a desert island you won't bleed everywhere, whereas all of the disposables-addicted will (;Www@Answer-Health@Com
