they'll put a metal penis shaped instrument inside you carefully then like winch it open a bit!. it doesnt hurt, its just a bit uncomfortable for a little while!. then they'll like use a brush type thing to take a small ammount of lining and cells from your uterus and check you dont have chlamidia!.

I've never had one but they are not sore!. It's just uncomfortable (well what can you expect under the circumstances!!)!.
