What is the name of this process?!

Question: What is the name of this process!?
My doctor wants to put a camera through my vagina and I am a little unsure as to a) what she is looking for and b) what this process is called!. She also wants to do an ultrasound!?
Can anyone shed some light on this!? I do not know what is going on-I am not sexually active and I have never had a pap smear (am only 18)
Someone please help me out here!. I have no clue what is going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its a transvaginal ultrasound!.!.!.it is used to visualize a woman's reproductive organs, including the uterus, ovaries, cervix, and vagina

You will lie down on a table with your knees bent and feet in holders called stirrups!. The health care provider will place a probe, called a transducer, into the vagina!. The probe is covered with a condom and a gel!. The probe sends out sound waves, which reflect off body structures!. A computer receives these waves and uses them to create a picture!. The doctor can immediately see the picture on a nearby TV monitor!.

I am not sure why your Dr is doing this, what reason did you have for going to the Dr!?!.!.!.Problems with your period!?!.!.!.Maybe she suspects PCOSWww@Answer-Health@Com

tell your doctor that you won't consent to the procedure till she/he explains to you what she wants done and why!. I can't imagine them wanting to do anything other than a basic pap!.!.!.especially if you arn't sexually active!.

If you are scared to talk to your doctor alone, bring along someone older you can trust while you ask your questions!. your doctor works for YOU and she/he will help you understand or you need to find another doctor!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

well did you ask her why!?
you shouldn't have any procedure done that you do not understand!. chances are she will put the camera in through an incision which is called a laparoscopy to see your uterus!. She may do the ultrasound through your vagina and then also over your uterus!. you really should ask her more questions before going ahead with this!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Sounds like she is looking to check your ovaries, cervix, and uterus!.
Usually normal- done to make sure all is okay up there!. The camera can show her is video is anything is wrong and the sonogram can tell her if you have any growths or if you are ovulationg correctly!.

Don't worry and talk to your doctor!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not too sure, as it could be for a multitude of reasons, but I would ask her straight up why she wants to do that - you're an adult and you have the right to know!.

Just tell her you're a bit confused as to why she wants to do those things, and tell her you'd feel much better about consenting to the procedure if you knew what it was for!. Remember that it's your body and you're in charge of what goes on with it!.

Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

My friend had an operation kinda like this where the doctor put this little camera inside of her!. It was because she had this sist (cist!?) in her ovary that I think they had to remove(she is also not sexually active)!. The best thing to do is ask questions - find out what's going on!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I dont think it is to look up your vagina, mostly ultra sounds are done in connection with a laproscopy through the belly button, so they can look into your pelvic organs!. Laproscopies have a camera attached to them to see inside cavities of the human body!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's called a vaginal ultrasound!. To look into the uterus, cervix, ovaries and fallopian tubes!. Did you have some abdominal pain!? Ask your doctor what exactly she's looking for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It's an ultrasound done internally!. Are you having some female problems!? It seems unwarranted unless they are looking for something (cause of pain or bleeding) I would definitely ask why they are doing it!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lDK!? Ask her!. Thats what she's there for!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
