Help from all you tampon users out there?!

Question: Help from all you tampon users out there!?
I started getting my period a year and a half ago, and I'm 14!.5 years old!. I'm trying to use tampons but I can't get them more than halfway in without it hurting or feeling like there's a wall I can't get past!.

I use Tampax Cardboard Tampons for Regular Absorbency!.

I was wondering if anyone who's been using tampons for a while and/or has been in a similar situation could help me!. I have a heavy flow and I'm using the right absorbency and angling it upward not straight and all that stuff, but I can't get it in!.

I would really like to be able to do this with the box of tampons I have (Tampax Cardboard Applicator with Regular Absorbency) please, but only if I REALLY NEED A NEW KIND, tell me what you would reccommend!.

I hear plastic applicators are better for beginners but I really can't buy them so I want you to try to tell me how to work with what I have!.

Thanks in advance!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
when I first started using tampons, I used those, and yeah, they worked, but I HATED THEM!. the only good thing about them was that they were cheap and you could just flush everything! now I use tampax pearl and I LOVE those !!!!! the plastic applicator is SMOOTH and easy to slide in!

as for what to tell you, aim for your lower back!. relax relax relax! sit on the toilet with your legs spread or even stand with a foot on the toilet (though I tried this and it didn't work for me)!. don't think about how it won't fit, think about how much more free your life will be without pads!! you can do it, you just have to keep trying!

hell, if you're feeling gutsy, you could try to push a finger in all the way up to the knuckle!. it's about the size of a tampon!. this will let you feel around and see if anything is in the way! just make sure you wash your hands before and after!Www@Answer-Health@Com

If you cannot buy another kind that come with the plastic aplicator then use a lubricant so that it slip right in!.
Moreover, if you are still a virgin, you might have a very small opening in your hymen and that is why you feel like a wall preventing it to go further in!. If you force it in you might tear or rupture your hymen and this can be a little painful!. Use The slim kind of tampons with the plastic aplicator!. Make sure you are relaxed because it is easier to get it in!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're trying to run before you walk!. Get a box of playtex slimfits, and learn with those, they are much more comfortable and easier to put in!.

I'm an adult woman and I still hate tampax regular, they expand too much and hurt after I put them in (I'm probably just too short for them to fit me properly), not to mention that the lack of a rounded top means they hurt to put in!. You'd have to be crazy try using tampax regular while you're still learning to use tampons!. Tampax pearl are another story though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I have tried to use cardboard tampons and i just seem to not be able to get them up and ive been using tampons for about 5 years now!. So i tried the Plastic applicators and they work great! I just think some people cant do the cardboard one!. I would deff go with playtex gentle glide till you get use to it and then you can go to any of them!. Which i use Platex sports which are very comfortable!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

use stayfree slim
it takes about 15 tries on different days to get it right
well you could put some lube or vaseline on it inbetween your periods and practise!. dont put lube or vaseline on a tampon during your period as it wont let the blood be absorbed properly!.

keep trying!.!. but dont use regular use slim!. alot easier!. also try using a mirrorWww@Answer-Health@Com

Tampax cardboard is not easy to insert for first timers!. I even had trouble when I tried them even though I had been using tampons (Playtex) for over a year!. The cardboard applicator literally self-destructed on me due to my heavy flow!.

Get Playtex gentle glide in regular absorbency!. They cost about the same as what you're using and they are much easier to insert and use!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i went through the same thing!. when you put it in go slow!. you're tensing up!. i still tense up too!. do this: breathe!. out, push!. breathe out, push!. wiggle the tampon a little to try and get the right angle!. believe me!. it's hard but the only reason it hurts is cause you're so tensed up!. make sure you push the tampon in all the way or it'll be uncomfortable!. it'll feel weird when you push it up but that means you're doing it right!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Tampax Pearls are like my best friend!. They have a plastic applicator so they slide in easier!. Since you're 14, you'll probably want to get slim or slender Pearls to begin with!. I know you say that you can't get plastic applicators, but trust me on this one!. =) Pearls are the best!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Playtex Gentle Glide Plastic is good!. I have the same prob!. I am so close to getting it in and then it wont go! The angling is hard but you got to keep trying new angles!. It's hard and frustrating but you just have to belive that you can do it and reelllaax!Www@Answer-Health@Com

HI,
Try Kotex in the white flowered box!.!.!.regular absorbency!. I swear by them!. Also only try using them when you DO have your period!. practicing when you dont have it will just make you sore and uncomfortable!.

What you might want to do, is try lubricating the applicator with a little vaseline!. It is cardboard, so once you attempt insertion, its dry on the way in!. This should make things a little easier for you!. Good luck!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its all about the angle!. when i first started using them i was trying to push straight up!. really, you need to angle BACK, like towards your anus!. it seems strange, but try it!. also, a sitting or squatting position is best!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You're going to want to use "slender" or "slim!."

Playtex gentle glide is supposedly the bestWww@Answer-Health@Com

playtex gentle glide is good!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

ew why are guys anwering this questionWww@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not sure why you can't buy the plastic applicator ones, unless it's because you're very environmentally conscious, which I suppose I understand!. Still, if I were you I'd consider buying a small package (maybe 10) and see if you can't at least get yourself past the wall with them!.

However, since you're using the carboard app Tampax (good for you!), I hope at least you're using SLENDER regular!. Next thing to consider might be to be sure that you are standing or squatting a little when you put it in; don't sit!. Even lying down is okay (and might be good, because you're looking to be as relaxed as possible)!.

Another thing you can do is try a form of yogic breathing to relax those muscles!. That's where you breathe in through your nose and imagine the air going through your lungs and down specifically to that region, where it will relax the muscles!. Breathe out through your mouth!. Repeat!.

Be gentle with yourself!. Use the slender regular tampons!. If you can get your hands on a water-based lubricant like K-Y jelly (ask your mom maybe she has some) you could put a little on the end, but if you try it on a heavy day, you really shouldn't need it!. Do NOT use vasoline!. It is a petroleum derivative (that's gasoline), and it's not good for that region!. A few drops of water on the applicator only (not the tampon) would be okay in a pinch!.

Relax and be patient!. You will be able to do it eventually!Www@Answer-Health@Com

yeah i use tampx cardboard regular too and i can't get different ones because they were on sale so my mom thought she would buy 300!.!. like last me a year mom -_-
but yuo just have to keep trying, practicemakes perfect right!?
good luck :)Www@Answer-Health@Com

its true that plastic applicators really are much easier to get it!.

i started using tampons that had cardboard applicators too!. the only thing you can do is keep trying!. i had to sit in the bathroom for 30 minutes (after giving up 73503824 times before) trying to get it in until it finally just went!.

it might help if you use the LIGHTEST absorbency (even if you need a heavier one) because they are small!. once you can easily get the small ones in, it will be easier for you to get the bigger ones in too because you are familliar with how to angle them correctlyWww@Answer-Health@Com

Make sure you're relaxed, of course!.
Also make sure you're wet!. Try it when you get out of the shower!.
You can put some lube on the tip as well to help it slide in there!.
Get in different positions to try to get the tampons in!. Try squatting, or putting one foot up on the toilet!.
Take breaks in between tries!.
You said you're aiming it upward!? Make sure you aim it toward your lower back!. Straight up won't work!.
Practice makes perfect!. Keep trying!

For your first time I also suggest a slim or lite tampon!. I like Tampax Pearl and their lites are really small so they'd probably be easier for you!. But try the ones you have and see how those work first!.
Good luck!Www@Answer-Health@Com

sweetie dont worry about it!.
im almost 18 and ive been wearing tampons for about 2 or 3 years!. i was always scared to try tampons!.
i dont know why you can only use the cardboard applicator!.
whether its because the others are SO expense (and they are haha) but i i were you, look for sales!. walgreens and rite aid have the best deals on tampons!. plastic applicatiors are the best because they slide right in!.
ive always used tampax pearl for normal absorbency, but i recently tried playtex sport and they are just as comfortable and you dont even feel it once its in!.
if you need more help withanything hun, you can talk to me, i was your age just a couple of years ago!. any other questions, just email me :)Www@Answer-Health@Com
