I totally get where you are coming from--I was in band all throughout high school and an entire day marching in the heat is never any fun, especially when you are on your period!.

That being said, I would try Motrin or Aleve for the period pain over the Midol!. In my experience, they work much better for cramping, plus they will help with your sore muscles!. Hydration is crucial!.!.!.drink water, water, and more water!!! I know you said that you don't use tampons, but you might want to think about trying them!.!.!.I always felt more secure and comfortable marching with them than with pads!.

Don't be worried about being the alpha dog at push ups and running--just do your best!. Plus, remember that you are at band camp, you're not necessarily expected to be Kobe Bryant!. I think any director will be happy as long as you really do try your hardest!.

As for the bad attitude thing!.!.!.just try to replace every negative thought with a positive thought!. Instead of thinking, this drill sucks!.!.!.I'm gonna quit trying", go for "I can do this, and it will be over soon!. Plus, the more I practice, the better I'll get"!. If all else fails, just try to think about the rush you'll get during football season!. Ok, that may have sounded a little nerdy!.!.!.!.but I promise you there is nothing like the thrill of performing at half time in front of a huge crowd!. It makes you forget about the torture of practice and band camp!

Lastly, if you start feeling really, really bad you do need to tell your director or one of his/her staff members!. During my senior year I was feeling super sick and tried to keep pushing through it!.!.!.I ended up throwing up at camp and having to sit out for a while!.

Good luck and have an awesome time at band camp!Www@Answer-Health@Com
