Question: I am worried about the contraceptive pill!!!?
hi, i have been on the pill for around a year!.
and 9 months ago i changed to yasmin, i had a normal sex life for a while, but a few months ago something has happened, and now i have no interest in it what-so ever! and if we do have sex, i dont get as much pleasure as i once did!.
my boyfriend is ovbivously interested but if he ever suggests it, i never want to!. if we're sleeping together, i never want to do it!.
if me and mates talk about it - i dont enjoy talking about it and don't want to do it, it makes me feel very low
my boyfriend thinks i dont like him, but i really do!
does anyone have any advice, is it the pill!?

I stopped the pill partly for this reason (I was also on yasmin after changing from microgynon 30) and now me and my boyfriend use condoms and its ok!. Sex with condoms is much better than no sex :)
There has been research into this area as this article explains:

In the study they found that women on the pill have much lower levels of testosterone and higher levels of another hormone resulting in reduced sex drive!. What is worrying is that they found these hormonal changes seemed to persist in the women's bodies long term!.
I am much happier not on the pill and it is an option if you and your boyfriend don't mind condoms!.

As much as Yasmin is seen as the new modern wonder pill, i wasn't suited to it! I felt really ill on it and had terrible cramps as soon as i finished a pack but it would then take me 5 days to start period!. I also felt that i was suffering PMT permanently which i have never had! I gave it 5 months and said enough was enough! If you have only noticed a change in yourself since taking this pill then i would see about changing it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
i'm on Yasmin too, for me its the best one!.
i did go through a low sex drive spell and wondered if the pill was effecting it- it may well have done, but now i am back to my normal "horny" self!.
