About the bathroom thing: that's normal!. That's what's supposed to happen!.
Your period will last 2-14 days!. That's what is considered normal, although the average amount if 5 days!.
Tell your mom~
a) Write her mom a note, send her a text message, or compose an email telling her that you started your period and need supplies but you don't want her to make a big deal out of it!.
b) Got a little cousin that's around a lot that doesn't know what a period is yet or much younger sibling!? (must be very little kid) If so, tell him/her to tell your mom that you need a pad and don't get all mushy!. It worked for my friend and she was in the same situation as you!. Well, with her mom, that is!.
c) Just tell her, reminding her to not make a big deal out of it or anything!.
d) Write out the grocery list, listing "pads" on there, kind of near the bottom, and give it to her RIGHT as she's going out the door!.
e) Tell your aunt or an older cousin or someone else that you trust that you started your period and if they'll tell your mom for you!.
f) This one will only work if it's your mom who does the laundry, but here goes: Put your bloody underwear in the wash (preferably after the blood has dried so it doesn't get all over everything else in that load of laundry and see what she says when she finds it while folding it or switching the wash into the dryer or whatever!.

Hope I helped!

You may not like it, but your mom WILL figure it out, so there's no point in using your money to buy your own pads and once she DOES figure it out (if you don't tell her, that is) she'll be dissappointed that you don't trust her enough to tell her!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Period does not come out like pee!. When you wipe you will see and notice the blood, and some may come out while you pee but you don't ever pee blood on your period!.

Spotting is when theirs hardly any blood except maybe little blotches that are hardly noticable!. Period is full on blood, you will know if its your period!.

Just ask your mom if you can talk to her about something private and personal and tell her that you started your period and don't exactly know what to do and she will explain it all and all that!. Its not a huge deal, besides I'm sure at you're age shes counting down the days until you tell her, haha!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i just started my period a year ago so i know where your coming from!.
first things first, your first period is usually the longest, because your body has saved all that blood from when you were born and now that you have started puberty, its just gonna hit you fast and hard!.
now, for your spotting question, i have a question for you!. are you wearing pads and your not leaving any blood on the pad or what!?
as for telling your mom!. i told my mom just straight up and she told me everything that i need to know!. it shouldnt be hard, i mean i was 12 when i told my mom!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

mine was 7 days
the blood on the toilet paper could be spotting
ur period will last 3 to 7 or 8 days
just say mom i have some questions about periods and stuff
im pretty sure she will want to talk to you and listen!.
moms like when their daughters talk to them about that type of stuff
it makes htem fel goodWww@Answer-Health@Com

all periods usually last 3-7 days, even your first one!. if your underwear isn't stained, then it's not your period and you should see a doctor!.

just tell your mom, we all had to do it, and it's ALWAYS embarrassing!. or you could just say before she goes shopping, "oh by the way mom, can you get some pads for me!?" she'll get the hint!.
good luck~~Www@Answer-Health@Com

i got mine about a year ago and i was sooo scared! i didn't tell my mom because we're not very close but she found out because i was really nervous and twitchy and apparently very obvious about it!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.but anyways when she found out it wasn't so bad and i felt more relieved!. so i suggest u just come out with it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

lol im 13 too and i just got mine yesterday!.

and yes when you go pee and wipe blood is there cuz its comming out arround there!. i just kinda went up to my mom and told her!. im not that close with her either!. you could try putting your bloody underware in the wash and when she sees it she will know!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I'm not close to my mom in that matter!. But, I just went up and asked her if we could buy pads next time we went to the store!.
