I think my diet is affecting my periods?!

Question: I think my diet is affecting my periods!?
I've always been pretty regular but in the last 4 months I've been 2 weeks late twice, and then a month late and now I am about 3 and a half weeks and still waiting!.!.!.

I'm getting married very soon so have been dieting - I would say healthily like lots of salad and low fat and low calorie foods!. I certainly have a lot more energy now but do you think this would have affected my periods!? I'm worried because I want to get pregnant soon (have sort of been trying) and if I only get a period every second month thats going to take me a long time and I won't know when I'm ovulating!

Anyone have experience of this or knowledge!? I'm trying to book in to see a doc but it is nearly impossible getting through to them! Thanks
P!.S Not pregnant - have done 2 tests!. And not stressed!!!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Heya,
This sounds to me like when you are dieting has affected your periods because you have put your body under alot of stress and strain under your body at this present time!. It is not unusual for stress of this nature to make your period late or even skip a month, it will do this until you are eating back to normal, then it will gradually come back!. If you are sure your not pregnant then i would say this skipped or missed period is due to your dieting which is totally 100% normal!. I would say though if you are really worried to be on the safe side i would visit your doctor and ask if he can order you some blood tests in order to rule out the cause, enabling your mind to be put at rest on this issue!.
But it sounds totally normal to me since you have been dieting!.
May i say good luck on your wedding and i hope everything goes extremely well!.
Hope i helped
