Women question: Awful Periods???!

Question: Women question: Awful Periods!?!?!?
I don't bleed a lot during my periods and they usually last only 5 days but the first day of my period I always get really really bad cramps, I can barley stand, I shake, I throw up for 12 hours straight and I can't even keep down a sip of water!. I fear I might get dehydrated or something!. Does anyone know why this happens to me, or what may cause it!. Anything will help, I want to get rid of this I feel like I'm dieing when this happensWww@Answer-Health@Com

I used to get really bad periods too, once it was so sore that I thought I'd rather be dead right now, then I started using heat patches, co-codomal tablets, and a hot water bottle, and the pain has really lessened!.

I take painkillers a few days before my period arrives too, seems to help me!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

A lot of women are in the same exact boat you're on, as am I!. I have suffered from terrible cramping my entire life!. I too have similar symptoms you have prescribed!. The only relief I have found to calm down severe cramping is to drink plenty of water & take a nice LONG, HOT [scolding almost] bath!. The heat penetrates & it is very soothing!.

I have yet to find a medication that fully takes my cramps away!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

The first day my period comes is always the worst!. I dont ever throw up but for the day i cannot even get out of bed!. I have to curl up into a ball!. If its upsetting you so much you are sick though i would reccommend going to see your doctor who will probably put you on some sort of birth control pill which will help!. When iw as on it i didnt get cramps at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

It is simply PMS!. Your body just deals with it in a different way!. You could see a doctor!. They might be able to give you something or put you on something to help control this!. I would definitely see a doctor about it if I were you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had similar problems and when I got on birth control all the problems disappeared!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i know how your feeling and understand your pain!. my mom just kept blowing it off as if i was over exaggerating, but every month i was coming home from the nurse's office at school from passing out and throwing up from the pain!. so my mom finally scheduled a gyno appointment!.

well i did not need an internal exam, and the gyno told me i simply had painful periods, and i had two options!. one was to go on birth control- and the mother wasn't having that!. so i got put on 800 mg of ibuprofen to take- but again that wasn't enough!. tried it for 2 months- but still had the same horrible symtoms!.

sooo- we went BACK to the gynecologist and my mom said fine- put her on birth control and we'll see what happens!. and you know what!? its been a miricle!.

i got put on loestrin24- a low dose birth control- that has lightened my periods and lessened my cramps!. and since my cramps are not as painful, i do not pass out or throw up any more!. i have not gained any weight and have had pretty much no bodily changes (in acne or breast size)!. but i'll tell you what- it made my periods much more bearable!. the only downside was all the breakthrough bleeding that occurred the first 3 months!. it was annoying but i got through it!.

my gyno also said that i may have something called endometriosis, but the only way to diagnose that is through surgery (so i guess i'll never know)!. so check into those things! hope this helps! i know it helped me!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
