Why can't I sleep when I'm on my period?!

Question: Why can't I sleep when I'm on my period!?
This happens every month!. The first night I am on my period I can't sleep!. It's five in the morning where I am, and I've been awake all night!. This normally wouldn't be a problem on the weekends or if I didn't have school, but I am taking a summer course and I have class in the morning!. During the normal school year, ever since I was in high school, it causes me to miss class the next day from a combination of my body finally allowing me to sleep and horrible cramping!.
Does this happen to anyone else!? Could there be some common reason for this!? It's really inconvenient and I'm not really looking forward to the future when I have to have a job in the morning-- I've worked afternoon/evening my whole life up til now but after college I'll have to get a '9 to 5'!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Apparently your body temperature is slightly higher when you're on your period which can make it harder to sleep!. I'd try sleeping with one foot stuck out from under the covers (which helps you regulate your body temperature) to see if that helps at all!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

its normal, there is nothing comfortable about your period!. cramping etc makes it difficult to sleep ,, i would recommend sleeping with a heating pad, or taking some tylenol!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I will sometimes have trouble because of cramps, but something like ibuprofen or acetaminophen takes care of the problem!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
