It's hard to shave down there, because it's not out in the open where the fresh air can get to it!. That means every little bit of sweat and moisture get get into those pores where the hair follicles are and become irritated!. Be ready to handle the inflammation, if it sets in!.
You can make sure to shave late in the day!. Don't do it during the hottest part of the day, and don't do it on a rainy day!. The humidity means you're more likely to get an infection!.
Once it's done get some vinegar and a cotton ball and apply the vinegar to the freshly shaved skin!. It may sting, and it does go on hot and tingly, but once it has absorbed into the skin it will cool the skin temperature!. That means it's less likely to become inflamed!. You want to keep the pores clear!. Once an infection sets in, the pore swells and the hair is trapped inside!. It will become ingrown under those circumstances!.
You can apply some aloe vera gel to the skin after that!. The aloe is a gentle moisturizer!. It's not oily and it too should help prevent inflammation!. Then you can apply some baby powder!. The powder has a way of acting as a moisture repellant and preventing a rash!.
Don't get hand lotion or suntan lotion on this freshly shaved skin!. It will clog up the pores and become inflamed!. If you can get through the first 3 days without inflammation, you just might do well!. Remember whatever you do, don't scratch it!.
If it does become ingrown, you need to break open the infection and get the swelling down and let that hair out!. You have to let it grow long enough, you can't just attack it as soon as a problem arises!. I've gone after it with a straight pin!. It bled, but once the hair was out, it scabbed over and mended!.
I hope this helps you!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Its normal to be itchy because there's chafing, and its a sensitive area!. When the hair grows back, it pricks your skin and causes irritation!.

My best bet other than waxing is to buy this cream you can find at any drug store called "Bikini Zone" Many friends have told me it works wonders!.!.!.!.it prevents rashes, irritation, bumps, etc!. Use it after you shave!.!.!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

i don't find its itchy at all!.!.once it grows back for like a week i find it gets itchy so i have to shave it again when that happens!.!.i've been shaving since i've got hair "downthere"!.!.!.no problems!.!.if you want to shave!.!.shave!.!.atfirst it'll take some getting used of but after a week or so you'll be fine!Www@Answer-Health@Com
