Try taking Ibuprofen a few days before your period and all during your period!. They are an anti inflammatory medicine and will seriously reduce the bleeding and its length!.
Drug therapy for menorrhagia may include:
* Iron supplements!. If the condition is accompanied by anemia, your doctor may recommend that you take iron supplements regularly!. If your iron levels are low but you're not yet anemic, you may be started on iron supplements rather than waiting until you become anemic!.
* Nonsteroidal anti-inflammatory drugs (NSAIDs)!. NSAIDs such as ibuprofen (Advil, Motrin, others) help reduce menstrual blood loss!. NSAIDs have the added benefit of relieving painful menstrual cramps (dysmenorrhea)!.
* Oral contraceptives!. Aside from providing effective birth control, oral contraceptives can help regulate ovulation and reduce episodes of excessive or prolonged menstrual bleeding!.
* Progesterone!. The hormone progesterone can help correct hormonal imbalance and reduce menorrhagia!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

the pill would make them lighter, and the pill does regulate your period!. you'll know exactly when you get it and also it probably wont go for as long as it does now :) so it probably would be a good optionWww@Answer-Health@Com
i think the pill is a good option even though you dont want to!. unfortunatley there is no "'trick"" to it!. if there was, i think all of us girls would use it!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
You may want to consider OCP's just to make them lighter, even if you are not sexually activeWww@Answer-Health@Com
