Man gyno doctor?!
Question: Man gyno doctor!?
okay so does anyone else feel like they are talking to a wall when you tell your gyno doctor that is a young male how your cramps are severe during your period and that you have excessive blood loss!?
I told him my cramps are really bad and he's just like!.!.!.okay!.!.!.!.and didn't say much because if you think about it they cannot experience the feeling or the blood loss so why do we even let the practice gynecology!? who has a male doctor that knows what it's like or anything!. it's not like they can use personal experience to help treat patients like women doctors can!. and why on earth would a guy want to be a gynocologist!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Well first things first!.!.!.!. I may be a male gynecologist, but I am neither young nor hot!. I'm just an average, easy-going man of 53 who is totally dedicated to women's health!. :)
A lot is made of male vs female gynecologists, or doctors for that matter!. And quite honestly, it's a personal preference thing really!. But FWIW, regardless of gender - you need to have a physician, especially a gynecologist, in whom you can confide and maintain trust!. Male or female, you need a physician with whom you are PERSONALLY comfortable!. And by that, I don't necessarily mean "comfortable undressed"!. Comfort while undressing shouldn't ever be a measuring stick, most people are uncomfortable and awkward a bit in that situation no matter the circumstance!. What I mean is you need to be comfortable in discussing yourself, your health and your life!. How else can I, or any other doctor, really give you the best care if we can't openly and frankly communicate with a patient!?
One last thing!.!.!. it's always brought up that a male cannot give the best gyn care because he doesn't have periods, babies, breasts, etc!. Well, that's true, I do NOT have periods!. But, I don't have to if I truly want to understand and help, what matters is that I learn and communicate!. Think of it this way!.!.!. Michael DeBakey (recently deceased) was the world's greatest heart surgeon in the eyes of many!. And yet, he'd never had a heart attack or any real cardiac issues!.!.!. and yet he understood them intricately!. It's not a question of who you are or what you are, it's how you practice and approach your job!.
I assure you that I am old and non-threatening enough that you'd be able to discuss your cramps with me comfortably, and I also assure you that I'd listen to and do my best to followup on every word you say!. :)
