I have been referred for physio therapy which is just being told how to kegel properly which I was doing anyway!. I was told to start with 5 x 5 second holds with a 5 second rest between each and then 10 x 1 second holds, so 5 long holds and 10 short holds 3-4 times a day!. I am now doing 10 x 10 second holds and 10 x 1 second holds 3-4 times a day!.

Pelvic floor exercises are important and we should do them everyday for the rest of our lives!. They can prevent, improve or cure stress incontience!.

I was referred for physio due to having prolapse and so far I haven't noticed any difference but then it might be too late for me!. Remember to avoid lifting really heavy objects and if you are going to lift something heavy make sure you contract your pelvic floor whilst doing so!. It is so important to protect this part of your body because you really do not want to end up with the problems of a prolapse!.

Hope that helps and makes sense!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes!.
Well worth doing after childbirth and forever after!.
Without being too graphic a friend of mine is a nurse at an old peoples home!. She said many elderly women literally cough their organs out! If you do not wish to see your cervix, womb, or worse still the inside of your rectum then get squeezing! I do roughly 100 a day as instructed by my midwife 18 years ago!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Pelvic floor/kegal exercises are very beneficial and will give strength and support to the pelvic muscles!. Particularly good following childbirth and incontinence due to bladder weakness!. Practise daily!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
