Question: Could I get a hysterectomy before I'm fourty!?
I just found out today, that my mom, who is 39 may be getting a hysterectomy by the end of the year!. Having a hysterectomy that early, isn't uncommon in our family, because her mom and aunts had theirs done before the ages of 35-40!. Is this a common age for hysterectomy's!? I know it's because of medical concerns, but I'm wondering, because my family has had them so young, if I will to!. I'm only 21 and have one child, it just makes me sad a little so I'm wondering if anyone can answer!. Thanks!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Having this surgery at that age is not un-common however as a surgical nurse I can tell you that there are many reasons why someone should or should not go through this procedure!. There are many risks to this surgery, if someone was to have a hysterectomy at such a young age I would assume it was to to medical concerns such as ovarian cancer or early menopause!. You should talk to your mom and find out exactly why she is having it so that you can understand the situation fully!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
Well, it depends on the reason!. Does cervical or uterine cancer, or even ovarian cancer run in your family!? Hysterectomies are performed on a routine basis, and it should be quite easy to deal with!. It just means that she won't have a cycle and she won't be able to get pregnant!. Sex is still good to go!.

It is not compulsory to have hysterectomy at the age u mentioned!.Ur family members had gone through it becouse there might be some reason like fibroid cancer leucorrhoea DUB or any other!.U should not worry but u should be careful becouse above conditions are heridatory so u should do rouine check upsWww@Answer-Health@Com
