I Miss My Period! Really Worried. Can I Ever Get It Back??!

Question: I Miss My Period! Really Worried!. Can I Ever Get It Back!?!?
I went through 2 year phase where i wasn't eating quite enough!. I grew a few inches in height, but my weight remained in the 80's!. Up until about a year ago, i was getting my periods on a regular basis, but they have since stopped!. I am now 17 years old, 5'4 and 82lbs!. I am trying to put on weight, but my question is, will i ever be able to get my period back since i have gone so long without it!? And do you think it would come back if i were to gain about 10lbs!?!? Is there anything else i can do (supplements, foods, etc) to make it come back!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

you are considered very underweight!. many women who are in this category lose their periods because their body essentially feels it is shutting down- virtually dying!. the fact that you were purposely not eating at one point really concerns me, and it sounds as though you are still a little obsessive about food!. counting calories at this point shouldnt be your main focus!. you need to eat more fat, period!. if you are simply eating low fat foods a couple times a day, for instance, your body will not improve and you will not gain weight!. 5-6 small meals a day (and when i say small i dont mean an apple) is recommended, but in your case, you would need more fat than the average person in order to get to a healthy weight!. have you talked to a counselor, dietician or physician about this!? the fact that you no longer get your period is your body's way of telling you that there is something very wrong, and getting it back is the least of your problems; you are at risk for heart attack, brain damage, kidney failure, blindness and death- you may say you eat more now, but a 17 year old not getting her period for two years, weighing about 30 pounds less than she should, tells me that you are still malnourished and i would strongly suggest you see a medical professional- it could save your life!. good luck!.
p!.s!. PLEASE dont listen to the girl who said you should gain weight by eating 'junk food' OR the person who said youre lucky you dont get your period- they shouldnt be giving you advice on a serious subject if they have no clue of what theyre talking aboutWww@Answer-Health@Com

1700 calories is not nearly enough for a woman in general!. a growing woman!? not even nearly close to enough!. if you want to gain weight, eat a balanced meal!. take a look at the "my pyramid" guide!. they wouldnt make that for nothing!. if you dont get your essential vitamins now, itll effect you for the rest of your life!. please eat at least 2300 calories, but closer to 2500 for a growing woman looking to gain weight!. please look to gain about 30 pounds, not 10

p!.s!.- the reason you arent getting your period is because your body is smart enough to realize you are so unhealthy it would be harmful to a baby and the host(you) to carry a child!. once you reach a healthy weight, your period will return!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
