Soap irritating private area?(awkward question)?!

Question: Soap irritating private area!?(awkward question)!?
I shower once or twice a day and use soap with a hint of perfume in it, but it's really irritating my privates!.
Am going to buy a non-perfumed soap for sensitive skin, but since no one(parents) ever told me how to wash down there, I'm not sure whether soap should really be used on that area!?
I know it should be used on the outside and never inside the vagina, but what about in between!?
Do other women use soap or water for that area!?Www@Answer-Health@Com

Answers:
I think that if you use a non-scented soap or a soap for sensitive skin, you should be alright!.

A few brands that carry soap for sensitive skin, are:

Dove
Basis-sensitive skin bar
Cetaphil

I hope this helpsWww@Answer-Health@Com

Using scented soap is a bad idea for sure!. Some mild soap might be ok!. I usually wash one day with soap and then the next day with just water!. I used to do everyday with soap but it recently started to really irritate me, so I've cut back a bit!. I just feel dirty down there if I don't use soap every couple days!

I say use whatever works for you!. If the new mild soap doesn't irritate you then go ahead!. Try to keep the soap on the labia and away from the vaginal opening!. That should help a bit, and make sure you rinse well!Www@Answer-Health@Com

Every time I went to the doctor for itchy problems - which was usually yeast infection - the doctor always told me never use soap down there, just water!. Well, some woman need soap down there you know!? So, I just wash the pubic area and a quick swipe down there, but I don't like scrub it madly!. Don't use perfumed soap though!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

You shouldn't use perfumed soap!. it will irritate the outside as well as the inside of your vagina!. There are special soaps that are made for washing that specific area and you can find them at almost any store!. It is a good idea however to continue washing with water alone until you get this special soap!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

They make washes specifically for that sensitive area!.!.!.!.it might be the perfume in the soap or something else that's causing the irritation!. Water is usually sufficient in cleaning up down there though!.!.!.it's just a personal preference whether or not to use a feminine wash/soap/or plain water!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Yes, soap and water is the thing to use!. The soap should not be irritating you!. I don't think you are washing wrong, getting a different soap is the answer!. I cannot use Dial or Irish Spring because it irritates me like you are describing!. Safeguard works for me!. You might have to try a few different soaps til you find the right one!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

you have a lot to learn!.

What you want is something called a douche!. your local supermarket should have one!.

I know this may sound odd!. but you might want to have one of your friends(female) talk with you a bit more about this!.

One thing that worries me is the fact that the soap was perfumed and then it was irritating you!. certain infections can cause this!.!.specifically with scented soaps!.

you might want to have yourself checked out at a GYN clinic!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I use soap down there!. Some soaps are irritating for some women, when they're fine for others!. Try a soap like Dove or Olay, they're too good brands, and they don't irritate me, my mom, or my sister!. =] Hope i helped!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

I had that problem two, don't worry about it!. Try buying dove soap, it is the best for sensitive areas, and will not irritate anymore!. Perfumes can cause yeast infectionsWww@Answer-Health@Com

In the beginning, there was no soap!. Your feminine areas were not meant to have soap on them!. Therefore, I do not use soap down there!. Plain water works just fine!.Www@Answer-Health@Com

Use a toilet brushWww@Answer-Health@Com

Hi Baby,
you are most definitely allergic to the dyes or perfumes in the soap!. Try to use a gentle soap without any harsh ingredients such as perfumes or dyes!. I use these two: Jergen's mild and gentle or Ivory which is really gentle!. Don't use any colored soaps, (they're loaded with perfume) use the white ones, or even if you find a glycerin (clear) soap that is very mild, that would be good too!.
My Sister is extra sensitive down there and she uses Johnson's n Johnson's baby wash for sensitive skin since it's mild and gentle!. She has had no complaints since!.
Oh!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.!.one more thing, or tip: Make sure you rinse properly, does your shower have a pull down hose!? If so stoop after you wash down there and let the water from the hose cleanse all the soap away!. This will also help to eliminate any irritation built up!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
