Question: Plz help paracetamol overdose!?!?!?!?
i found out that my friend who is 15 has taken about 90 paracetamol and also a PMA tablet and some alcohol!. I think she took them last night and then sleep the night and taken to hospital in the morning!. I knew she was depressed but i didnt know that much!. Im worried about her cause i know she is in ICU!.
What will happen to her!? how long does she have to stay in hospital for!?!?
I now that a paracetamol overdose is a painful way to go, how painful is it!? what does it do to the organs!?
Will she be ok!?!?!?

I went and looked it up and it said that high doses causes liver damage, which if they caught it early enough may not happen (although if she took it last night and slept the only hope for that is that sleeping slowed down her metabolism enough) Along with the clotting, your liver does several things (its the organ in the body that actually has the most functions) They will probably put her on bypass for a while to see if they can get the liver back functioning!. I hope she will be alright, I can't understand how hard this is!. Oh an to the person who made the comment about the wreath, you are a jerk, get a life!.Www@Answer-Health@Com
If she has really taken 90 and delayed getting help there is a fair chance her Liver will have been affected!.!. Possibilities are they try some supportive treatment and maybe put her on the transplant list!.
If the liver is badly damaged there is a risk she will not beable to clot her blood and there is a significant risk she will bleed heavily even to death!.!.

The symptoms of a paracetamol overdose can be delayed by 12 hours or more which is probably why she slept through the night!. Unfortunatley the tablets will have absorbed into the body and there is a very good chance she will have sustained liver and kidney damage!.

my mums friend did that, she was ok and the next day all her organs starting shutting dwn and she died!.
im so sorry to hear what your friend has done not everyone dies from it so lets hope she is a lucky one and she gets some help that she needs she must be seriously depressed to be doing that and at such a young age!

she will go into full organ failure within a few hours starting with her liver, then kidneys and then it what she wanted to achieve! i think its too late to worry about her nowWww@Answer-Health@Com
